Fixing up my 40 as I can. Plan on spraying my floor and underside of tub. I have limited space and funds. :crybaby: I hate to drop $1000 for a larger compressor when I could use it for parts for my cruiser. My question is, has anyone had any success with using a LVLP gun? My 40 is not a total restoration, but I want it to look nice. Also, can I use it for spraying undercoating or monstaliner? Thanks!

It should work fine although I don't have any personal experience with LVLP sprayers. With a low CFM compressor, you will just have to wait for the compressor to catch up and pay attention to the spray pattern to catch it and stop before it starts spitting. You will need a water separator or trap to spray a lot of solvent based paint. I don't know about liner. It depends on the viscosity. I have sprayed latex paint from a Binks cup sprayer after diluting it 10% with water and 10% with Flowtrol. You may be able to shoot liner, but you may need to dilute it first.

x2 on the $20 Shutz gun for bed liner/undercoating.
For a surprisingly adequate HVLP gun, look at Harbor Freight purple 43430. As far as compressor size, as noted, just give it time to catch up between panels.
