A great old Leyland Brothers flick from 1972. They wheel Cape York in British Rovers but it is the Land Cruiser that gets them across in the end.

Thanks for sharing - I love these old films! Wow, now that's a river crossing. I don't think I would have even given that a second of consideration if I was in their shoes.
Check out that tire repair in flip flops (something dumb I would do right before slicing my foot open) - how hard must that 2-part rubber have been to get off your hands?
...and then they had to turn around and go back the way they came I assume??

Noticed the battery box full of water after that river crossing. Even the stock LHD Land Rovers stick the battery there under the LH/driver's seat--makes jumping them such a joy !

What they did is nothing short of amazing. I would never have made that and to not give up at the end and drag that truck backwards, wow. Very cool seeing the LV used as well.

We drove a part of it in a LC 75 Camper.*

Was an Australia west coast trip..
Starting point was Perth.
First we drove a little bit south to the Wave Rock

and then towards Darwin ...not the direct & shortest route.
* Darwin east to Cape York & back to Darwin.
From Darwin airport we went back to Germany.
.... not enough time to drive it complete.
