Hey everyone! Thought I would finally stop lurking and introduce myself and the 80. Picked it up a month or so ago and have been lurkin around here in order to absorb all the knowledge I could. So far i've learned a lot and hope to learn more from ya. As far as the LX goes it's bone stock at the moment, at least until the :princess: releases some funds for "extracurricular maintenance". Any way took it out for a little "mall wheelin" and got a couple of pics for ya. Lookin forward to getting together with some of you in the Bremerton/Seattle area. :flipoff2:

Sweet flex dude. Welcome.

Welcome fellow noob! :flipoff2:

Welcome KAZ, good lookin' rig.

That curb stop never had a chance!

"Mall wheeling" is that what you call posing on a parking lot pylon.

Welcome. :flipoff2:

When I got my LX450, I did the following:

Base-lined - Replaced all fluids in diffs and Engine.
Radiator flush and fill with Toyota Red Anti-Fr
Transmission Fluid Exchange ( Make sure its an exchange and not a flush)
Rebuilt Front Axle, replaced front rotors and pads (with 100 series Pads)
Note : Front axle $200 by yourself of $1300 at shop. Find a cruiser head to help

Now the fun:
The LX suspension is soft will tend to lean more in turns. My wife didn't like it. I was happy to fix it for her. :D I bought a 2.5" OME lift & OME shocks and a Sll xfercase Skid plate.

My tires were wearing out so I bought 285 75 R16 BFG AT KO's.

I just bought a set of Slee Sliders, the new step ones not on his web page yet that look similar to running boards (Family Friendly).

My rig is now ready for some wheeling at Moab. You can find pics for the previous mods if you search this section of the forum.

The bottom line is fix what needs fixin, and if you need to fix something (suspension) that you may want to upgrade later. Take your opportunity.

Next up ARB Front Bumper, Hanna Rear Bumper (Maybe), Winch

Welcome to the club

I used to live in Bremerton (89-91). Gawd I miss the place. One of the greenest place I've ever lived in. Nice rig.

Sweet! You're bringing the 450. I look forward to wheeling with another LX :) It was a bit lonely last year at CM -- only 1 other 450 to wheel with...:D

Oh...before I forget...
Welcome aboard no-longer-lurking-newb :flipoff2:

Hey Romer,
Working on the baseline now, got the brakes, rad, and engine oil changed over so far. Diffs & x-fer case should be this week, and tranny the pay period after followed by the front axle. Noticed the soft suspension, working on getting the :princess: to get the OME's among other things. On a side note my little sis lives in Highlands Ranch so hopefully i'll make it out there sometime, need to stop by Christo's place sometime anyway.

hey my truck looked just like that a year ago, except I have the dreaded gold, and now it looks..........er.........well............pretty much the same

Just remember you have to drain the front diff when you rebuild the front axle.

Start talking about how soft the suspension and that maybe you need new shocks. Then don't say anything for a couple of weeks and then she will (worked for me) start talking about it and how its not great. Then you fix it for her.

FYI- Cruisers are expensive. There was a thread in chat a while back about how much we tell our wifes things cost. For example. Suspension and shocks (OME) is around $750. Pay $300 cash and charge the rest. When she asks how much it was, you look for the charge slip and hand it to her, or say something like, " I think the CC charge ws $450, let me look, Yup $450." See . . . No lying.

Welcome Noobie :flipoff2:

Kitsap Mall?

Back parking lot of the Kitsap Mall? I live very close to ya, give me a shout if you need some ideas or help locally. Good to hear that I am not the only one on the Kitsap peninsula besides the Land Pimp in gig harbor.
