on a side topic you more then anyone may have the Skill-Sets already here ?

can you help me conclude what the LAND CRUISER models USA and CANADA FJ40 and FJ55 fundamental difference or differences are in the 2 UNICORN EWD's ?
This is all I’ve got.. helpful but not ‘77 specific. Also doesn’t appear to be a SOR reprint, just purchased from there.

I have the 2F manual (original printing) as well as the CA ‘77 specific emissions manual, which is a reprint.

Love these old shop manuals!

Drove it in to work for the first time today. What a fun ride, even relaxing in a way - you can't go fast, so you get there when you get there! Driving on the freeway accentuated the flat spots on the old tires though. May need to get those sorted sooner rather than later.

I have decided to keep the mini truck wheels and fix them up with 31 x 9.5s, may paint them gray to match my OEM spare, or keep them white and paint my OEM spare to match. Not sure which yet but it needs tires pretty bad…

I have done lots of searching and seems like it’s *ok* to run 10.5s on stock wheels, but the 9.5s feel safer, maybe someone can chime in either way? Would prefer 33s but BFG discontinued the 33 x 9.5s some time ago and only make them in 10.5. Decisions.

I vote black.😉

I can’t take credit Matt. I got the idea from @HKforte . He did a set for his red FJ40 many years ago, and I thought the red/black combo looked really sharp.

As karma would have it, he gifted me the rims a couple of years ago, and they are now on my blue 45.

I have seen black on a mustard 40 before, and I know that looks sharp too.

Went the skinny route and got 30 x 9.5s on the 15 inch mini truck wheels. Rides and drives MUCH better than before.

All new door seals and a few other bits on the way from Marrietta Toyota, courtesy of the big SE Toyota Dealer parts sale a few weeks back.

Bad news - entire family laid up with Covid. Feeling awful.

Door seals, battery tray and holder, and the coup de grâce adding 100 hp at least…

I love some fresh zinc plated JIS nut with washer assemblies, harvested NOS from one of the PO’s parts boxes, almost as much as @ToyotaMatt, aah:

Rear seats, courtesy of @Tancruiser, an awesome guy and all around good dude. Only have 1 of my 2 1976 DOM-tagged lap belts, would welcome one with patina. I have two rear reel belts that I should sell, along with one complete seat that needs new covers and one half of the other seat. Frame on the good rear seat is in great shape, however.

These turned out awesome. Makes the truck just that much more complete, perfect patina and everything.

do they have the optional FOLD Down legs / feet ?

They do not, which is sort of a bummer but also correct for the 1977 MY, as far as I know…

not so fast sassafras ........... 🤔

me thinks all 2F era 40,s had fold down feet ?

it's not a big deal you can add them later , they look like NEW ! covers are sweet too

how u tell is :

are the seats a PERFECT RECTANGLE close to a square in shape and profile ?

or

is one side , maybe the side facing the back of the front seats a slight 15' bevel or angle as a whole ?

you follow me here on the big picture of the SHAPES of the seat cushions:) ?

i can make a quick hand sketch if your still un-clear ?

no problem '
