To clarify, I wish I could have been your resource. Sales are tight right now, and one of the reasons I decided to bow out of tech was/is a painful lack of reciprocity. Vendors that offer little or no tech on here still end up getting the sales.
Rant off
Damn, so sorry Mark... in truth the only things I needed for the front were wheel bearings and the Warn seal kit. The PO gave me the knuckle kit they bought from SOR a while ago but never installed.

Hoping that Warn kit works, we'll have to see when it gets here but I remember your note about that maybe not working with our hubs. Do you have wheel bearings and axle seals avail for the rear?

Know that you are very appreciated in this thread and elsewhere... the only reason I'm even considering a 60 for a DD (or even using the 40 right now) is because of your handiwork and guidance!

Narrowing the search for a daily down to a 60/62 or GX. GX is more comfortable, but air suspension. 62, but EFI and autotragic. I know a guy considering selling his 1985 60, that had a 5 speed conversion and rebuilt the original engine…back in 2005. It had a nontrivial amount of rust on the roof, however.

No newer BMW, though. Not my people. :)

Also adding the 80 back to the list. Here we go again...

Here’s what happens when you get bored and get after it with some lacquer thinner and a green scotch brite pad:

This requires some wet sanding and a cut with Griot’s Complete Compound, but it looks nice. No plan yet but would be great to get this junky paint off at least the areas where the color is wrong.

Still searching for a daily. Progress is slow as this weekend was all chopped up with events.

Luigi is up for sale in the FJ40 section. Getting ready for an FJ62 project. Passed smog this morning, 4/24/23, ready for sale and registration to a CA buyer.

This one has been a lot of fun. I will miss the Zen of slow a bit but am ready to work on a new rig. The 62 is coming from Maryland, will start a thread on it once it gets here.
