Was the car parked with it's nose downhill to make this noise by chance?
DougM
Indeed, another non-closure.
Got the cruiser back, sure enough the noise seems to have stopped? When I get home I might run an oil change to a M1 50w blend and send this oil off for analysis.
Blackstone reports continue to come in clean with 7k intervals and nothing special to report running wise. I ping quite alot but I think this car basically never got FI cleaner, so I expect to find a horrid amount of carbon when the HG eventually goes.
No rod nock or piston slap sounds to report since, though.
So am I to gather from this that you are waiting for the HG to go? Or are you waiting for the Blackstone reports to indicate that it is close and then replace? How many miles currently on the truck?
Just morbid curiosity.![]()
I took others word for it and assume it is the sound of the crank smacking into a pool of oil. Makes sense since it only happens on an incline, but naturally I find the noise really unsettling either way.
