Ls swap tach problem

97 fzj80 5.3 Vortec
I have the Dakota digital interface and I can’t get the tach to respond at all. I have the wire from the 5.3 harness hooked into the interface and the lead to the tach as the white with black stripe. What am I doing wrong?

This is what I did to make mine work. Check this page out. I cover what wasn’t working and then posted my solution, and the info needed to mimic it.

It has been flawless ever since.
