Use the factory trans cooler do not remove the transmission lines from going through the radiator keep this as it is and run your transmission lines to oem stuff keep the paper clip replace if it's rusted or something. If using a 4L80 transmission use the 4x4 transmission you will need to modify the stock xmember to push the engine and transmission forward or the passenger side head will hit the firewall oh and go read the 300 page ls swap thread then come back with all the answers do your research

That’s fair. I’m still trying to figure all of this out. I have people that know what they are doing who would be helping me. Just trying to gain as much knowledge as I can going into this.

You kept the LC steering box?
Yes landcruiser steering box stays

I hear ya. I’m probably gonna go electric fans and just hook them to my switch pros. I have a good electrical guy so I’m sure we can figure out the setup for them.

What did you end up doing for your power steering? Just a generic setup from AutoZone or anything in particular?
If using an lq4 truck engine I'd go with manual fan I'm a wiring guy and I prefer mechanical but your build do it how you like.
Mosley motors has the power steering pressure line you need.

Yea I was looking at those. I do have questions on how to gauge mount placement so I can leave the T-case where it is and use the stock driveshafts. Not too sure how to go about that.
I mentioned if you use the 4l80e you will need to modify or fabricate a new xmember to move everything further forward you may be able to use your oem shafts new tom woods shafts will cost around 1000.00. @cruisermatt sells weld in engine mounts and a few other things you can also look into @torfab kit I haven't used it.

Also there isn't a wiring harness that wires everything into the Toyota nothing plug and play you get an engine harness that plugs into the gm engine then a basic set of wiring to wire into the landcruiser and wiring from the landcruiser to the engine.

I appreciate all of the info. I have started reading the 300 page thread. It just goes into so many directions I get lost haha. But I’m getting through it.
Are you talking the cross member at the back of the transmission that I removed for my slee skid plate that is now basically my trans mount? Lol

I have Tom woods front shaft with double cardon in it already. I can always send back for change in length if needed. So I’m set there.

Unsure of the slee skid I've never used one. Factory transmission xmember that has 4 bolts on each side of the frame. Half way there with the tom woods front shaft as long as it will clear whatever transmission and transmission pan you use. The thread is all over the place there are multiple ways of doing it and multiple people doing it there own way some things may be a standard but alot isn't and to much talk about thus and that but most things are covered in some type of way.

Yes. I’d recommend checking out my videos. I talk some lessons learned. Not to say it’s how to do it. But you can see friction points and ideas to do something different. I’d do some things differently. I would make a battery bus and an ignition hot bus somewhere that is triggered by the Toyota. Many of the boxes you’ll use need either hot battery or ignition triggers. You’ll find yourself needing to splice in again and again. Are
You using a GM computer or Holley system? For engine control?
Did you have to do anything for the gear selector in the car to make it work with the 4L80?

^This. The earlier advice to bypass the radiator isn’t a good idea.

Question. Did you do anything for gear selector? Can the OE one be used with the 4L80? And do I need a GM Trans control module as well? Or is the ecm all I need? I haven’t seen anywhere talking about this. Just want to make sure I’m not missing anything.

Gear selector? The gear shifter? If gear shifter yes use the 80 one. Yes the gm ecm controls the transmission. Believe me your gonna be missing something hard to get everything you'll need in one shot.

I hear that. I’ve read about people talking about tcm’s. And I’m like wtf I thought the ECU did all that. Just confusing myself at this point.

And yes the gear shifter. Thank you

What did you do for your radiator? I saw your fan. That’s not the stock radiator is it?

Depends on the generation of the LS motor. I believe Gen III LS engines PCMs controlled the transmission if they are the electronic version of the transmission. No TCM needed, unless you go with a carb.

My L96, a gen IV motor, has a 6l90e transmission, which has its own internal TCM.

Most use the stock radiator, or buy a new cheap aluminum radiator. I am using a Ron Davis radiator.

Some will use a mechanical fan, like myself or use dual electric fans. GM ECMs, depending on the OS it is running, can control one or two fans. Both require a shroud to be made or adapted to fit a Toyota radiator. My mechanical fan is a combination of Silverado (fan clutch) and Savanah (fan) parts.

Ron davis radiator custom fan shroud and mechanical fan on this swap heading to Arizona. Second picture is I believe an ebay special or something customer supplied it not a fan but I'm sure it was cheaper than the ron davis.

Hey everyone. Thank you for all of the valuable info. I’m currently debating on cruiser Matt’s weld in mounts or selkirks bolt in mounts, does anyone have any information on what they prefer and why?
