Loose bolts at steering column (1 Viewer)

I have an aftermarket column, The wheel had a lot of play and found that the bolts were loose and only hand tight. Should I use lock washers under the bolts and a nylon nut? Or use lock tight ? How do we keep these from backing out again?

Whenever possible, I try to remove the part being secured to look at the threaded holes to see if they’ve been compromised before moving forwards.
