Just testing the waters but looking to trade vs selling as I’ve put nearly $60k into my 60 and yes that’s possible to do. In a nutshell my 1987 FJ60 is a two owner garage kept its entire life, zero rust, 1HDFT conversion two years ago, G Turbo, custom air intake and inner cooler, H55, AC, cruise control, air lockers, OME lift with reverse shackles, interior perfect and original, seats recovered two years ago for longer driving comfort, blue tooth, Front Runner rack with lots of goodies, Yukon 373 gears, works great on the trails and awesome for the highway, crusing at 70 mph for hours on end and loving it. Amsoil changes every 3k because I’m anal on maintenance, custom 42 gallon fuel tank with nearly a 700 mile range. It’s as nice as you would ever find one, needs nothing and has more power then any 60 I’ve been in. I’ve spared no expense on the build, hense the $60k investment and every component for suspension and steering has been upgraded or replaced. If interested shoot me an email for more details and or photos. Looking for a Tacoma with mild build, quality aftermarket parts, not a crawler SAS rig either. I’ve driven my 60 to Alaska and deep into BC and wouldn’t histate to do that over and over no issues. My reasons for spending the money was just for that reason, quality build means happy travels in my opinion. This is my 4th LC build, enjoy doing them and driving them but ready to try the truck route.

I’m aware of BAT and the “experts” that frequent every car for sale, just not sure I’m ready for that. Lol

I totally understand where your coming from on that. I sold my 71 Datsun 510 on ebay back in 2012 or 13 and BaT got ahold of it and a few trolls had a hay day with what they thought was knowledge. Lol It sold for 1/3 or what I had into it and I’m sure they didn’t help any . Today the same car would sell for 50k on BaT or ebay or Scottsdale.

That being said , I have noticed that there are a lot more people on the site commenting now days. They comment with a broader understanding of what it takes to custom build vintage Japanese tin regardless of the make and model. If you advertise it just like you have here , I don’t see you having any issues. Your rig is purpose built and not a trailer queen, but it damn near is . GLWS

Any interest in a 5k mile 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro in summit white with a 6 speed manual? Has tires, Southern style stealth bumper, and a winch.

@DOM335 thanks for the input. I’ve had an amazing amount of feedback/offers and trade options. Nothing has stuck as of yet and not in a huge hurry. I just watched an 87 FJ60 completely stock sell on BAT for $18k. It’s great to see the value in these continuing to increase. Add a full blown diesel conversion done correctly and bingo! You have the cost of a new loaded Tacoma Lol.

I was thinking I wanted a to trade for a Tacoma for a minute...but then I realized, why not both? Keep it!

This could be the most epic Cruiser I've ever seen, nice work man. I've got a 2019 Tacoma, and I even considered reaching out for a sec. My wife would be pretty ticked at me though..LOL!

You should just find out which Toyota dealer near you is owned by a true Toyota lover and then swing by and see what trade they would give you. It’s probably just the land of fantasy but every once in a while you hear stories of dealer enthusiasts offering new car swaps for rare old ones.
