Seeking someone passionate about Land Cruisers willing to take on a rust repair, frame welding, and mechanical restoration project for a 1997 Lexus LX450.
I’m flexible on time
so I’m looking for someone with passion for old 4x4s who works out of a home garage or workshop.
Inspection report and photos available.

Where is the vehicle located?

I would need to see pictures and such also what kind of budget none of what you mentioned is cheap and very time consuming.
Tommy

Nobody is saving that. Unless something attaches you to this particular rust bucket, you're MUCH better off getting a different one.

  • I’ve been coming to the same conclusion myself.

There are some shops in the Northern US "Rustbelt" that specialize in replacing rusted out panels, so it might be worth your time
to take it to some body shops in your area and ask them if they can do that work or if they know of a shop or individual that can do it.

You could also try searching online for "body shop rust repair"

Either way, the rust looks fairly advanced.

When I owned my 2002 Tacoma, the rear frame rails had similar damage, cost me 6500.00 and the truck was never right after (The bed lines were rough, and the distance between the bed and cab were off as well). Looking back I should've bought a truck with a cleaner frame or sold it as is. I would totally recommend sending this down the road, and finding another IMO.

That rear crossmember was available from Toyota.

An option is to put a 4x4Labs rear bumper on, which requires removing that portion of the frame. Or, buy that section from people putting on a 4x4Labs rear bumper. 😄

The inner fender doesn't appear to be available but can be found on the used market.

The paper clip power steering cooler is MIA, which makes me question the type of maintenance that was done. Putting thousands into a questionable body doesn't make sense if the drivetrain is also questionable.

I think that the 80 could be brought back, but easier to get another. If you were local, I would buy it for parts.

Is the bolt head sheared off here?
