I am looking for a Toyota fj40 to use during my retirement years. My body man says it must be driveable and not require an overall restoration.

Looks good wish it was closer.
Unsolicited 2 cents regarding your search...narrow down what year(s). There are differences that you might want to consider in your search. 3 speed (on tree on floor), 4 speed, drum brakes all around, discs on front, 1f, 1.5f, 2F, old style doors, barn doors, ambi doors, upper or lower windshield wipers, bucket seats, bench seat, not to mention power steering. Prices seemed to have dropped overall to much more acceptable levels unless you are looking for a frame off immaculate condition. Good luck on the search!
