I am aware that is one of the reason I did not give a budget as I am open to a clean example in the upper $teens low $20ks and am also open to something that needs some work in the $10 k range

just because it says to do it at 90,000 doesn't mean it gets done then. many get the first over 100,000 120-130 is not uncommon.
reports of over 200,000 without breakage
I'm not saying push it or not do it, just that at 90,001 miles it will not break.
if it is a non oem belt, I wouldn't push it.

I was just making a point. It’s a preventative maintenance not a repair.

In fact I did my wife’s at 70k mikes because it was ~13 years old. Overkill? Probably. But I sleep better and the truck keeps rolling.

I honestly don’t care about miles at all so I find it interesting that buyers put an arbitrary mileage on there ... what happens at 180k miles? Same thing that happens at 280k miles - nothing. It just keeps cruising.

true it is preventative maintenance and a whole lot of other preventative maintenance goes into servicing the vehicle before 180k miles.

I’ve checked records for lots of high mileage trucks and I’m surprised how little have done brake fluid flush , power steering fluid flush, coolant ., etc.

I would argue clean quality fluids are one of the most important things that can be done. Timing belts goes 200k and still look and perform new when removed as long as you keep the rest of the environment in good shape.

I’m just about to list my 04 LC. 220K miles. Timing belt/water pump done at 198K, just did rear brakes and heater T’s last weekend. I bought it back in May (was bored with Oregon’s Covid lockdown). It was bone stock and was driven by an old lady and have the entire service history from one shop in Washington. Always on west coast. You can see more pictures on IG. @cruiser_mac. I had hopes of building a family explorer, but the family had zero interest in overlanding. I am going to list it online for $28K. I have added the following:

Warn EVO 10s synthetic line winch with Bluetooth controller
Ditch lights (hood mounted)

Custom built drawer in the back (see video on IG)
No accidents, vin tags on all doors/panels.
