SILVER Star
It's advertised for a 1998 - Any reason that it wouldn't work on a 2000? And it is obviously an older model - does anyone know if it requires cutting or is it a straight bolt on?

There’s no need for a receiver hitch. I’ve hauled 5500lbs over the sierras with that bumper hitch. Basically the usable capacity of our rigs. Ditch the stock receiver. Thanks! Can I keep the receiver hitch with this bumper?"
Ditto that, have over 20k miles towing 4000lbs on and offroad with both the single and Slee's dual swingout bumper on the 100. The slots in the underside of the bumper will only fit a pretty small shackle link (3/8" WLL 3600lb) for safety chains. There’s no need for a receiver hitch. I have both dual and single center carrier bumpers. There a few things I prefer with the center carrier.... besides aesthetics. It's one vs two carriers and so one less swing out to open. The center carrier will fit almost as much stuff as a dual..... like you can fit (2) 20L cans if you wanted or one 6lb propane and one can.Just curious, what is it about the center mount tire carrier? For me personally, it seems like it'd be a lose/lose vs dual swing outs or a side mounted carrier. Less rear visibility and no space to add a second arm if desired.
Great perspective, thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for.I have both dual and single center carrier bumpers. There a few things I prefer with the center carrier.... besides aesthetics. Single Center vs single passenger side carrier: Again, you can fit more stuff on the center vs side. But one issue of tire carriers I don't like is when open in a "city" environment or parking lot, the carriers swing out into traffic, sidewalk or parked adjacent vehicles. With the single carrier, it can swing out just a little pass 90 degrees and clear the lift gate. The dual swing out, more like 110 degrees. Maybe they don't have to but they do. It's a small difference and I notice it.
Notice the angle:

Re: Hi-lift jacks. I sometimes use the full length of the 60" Hi-lift. A 48" jack won't do. The single center allows for diagonal mounting and the top of the jack is towards the center of the vehicle.... more out the way of tree branches and such..... especially when passing oncoming vehicles on the trail. A vertically mounted 60" will certainly be more likely to catch on something. It can be designed differently but most are vertical as such.

My experience with center mounted is just that. Can't see s#!t behind youJust curious, what is it about the center mount tire carrier? For me personally, it seems like it'd be a lose/lose vs dual swing outs or a side mounted carrier. Less rear visibility and no space to add a second arm if desired.
I was going to say the same...pretty sure this guy is a scammer...buyer bewareI've seen this exact bumper listed on a couple of the FB 100 series pages and it was a scam. Just beware.
