It's advertised for a 1998 - Any reason that it wouldn't work on a 2000? And it is obviously an older model - does anyone know if it requires cutting or is it a straight bolt on?

Fits all years but a couple of fasteners might be omitted on later year installs (around hitch). No cutting.

Likely, yes but they use the same mounting nuts and so the receiver would “stack” below the bumper.

There’s no need for a receiver hitch. I’ve hauled 5500lbs over the sierras with that bumper hitch. Basically the usable capacity of our rigs. Ditch the stock receiver.
Ditto that, have over 20k miles towing 4000lbs on and offroad with both the single and Slee's dual swingout bumper on the 100. The slots in the underside of the bumper will only fit a pretty small shackle link (3/8" WLL 3600lb) for safety chains.

I would recommend welding proper chain loops to the underside of the bumper's receiver. I had a utility trailer jump off the ball a couple of weeks ago due to an improperly adjusted coupler at around 30mph (600lb trailer w/250lbs of tires), and one of the links had broken by the time I got it pulled over. It's on my to-do list now.

What a great looking bumper. Love the centered carrier.

OP- randomly found the same pics in this listing from 2014 in rising sun 4x4...

Just curious, what is it about the center mount tire carrier? For me personally, it seems like it'd be a lose/lose vs dual swing outs or a side mounted carrier. Less rear visibility and no space to add a second arm if desired.

Just from an aesthetics perspective. I want the people in line behind me at the Starbucks drive thru to be able to see both full taillights.

If I actually ever got a rear bumper and swing outs, I agree that the dual arm with extra storage would be the way to go.

Yikes! Thanks for that - same pics 10 years later makes me wonder. I think that I will keep looking.

I have both dual and single center carrier bumpers. There a few things I prefer with the center carrier.... besides aesthetics. It's one vs two carriers and so one less swing out to open. The center carrier will fit almost as much stuff as a dual..... like you can fit (2) 20L cans if you wanted or one 6lb propane and one can.

Single Center vs single passenger side carrier: Again, you can fit more stuff on the center vs side. But one issue of tire carriers I don't like is when open in a "city" environment or parking lot, the carriers swing out into traffic, sidewalk or parked adjacent vehicles. With the single carrier, it can swing out just a little pass 90 degrees and clear the lift gate. The dual swing out, more like 110 degrees. Maybe they don't have to but they do. It's a small difference and I notice it.

Re: Hi-lift jacks. I sometimes use the full length of the 60" Hi-lift. A 48" jack won't do. The single center allows for diagonal mounting and the top of the jack is towards the center of the vehicle.... more out the way of tree branches and such..... especially when passing oncoming vehicles on the trail. A vertically mounted 60" will certainly be more likely to catch on something. It can be designed differently but most are vertical as such.

Great perspective, thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for.

@MongooseGA I had J at TT build me a centered carrier as the spare wouldn’t fit with the integrated hitch installed. I know you run his full swingout bumper. Went centered bc it looked more proportional compared to offset. I have a somewhat built rig with the dual Slee and didn’t plan to wheel this one

I’m with @Zuberg regarding purely aesthetics

And my wife definitely prefers 1 swingout vs 2 as @hoser mentioned

I did swap the TT latch for a destaco for convenience and ease of operation for my boo

Will flip it when I have time to fab a beefier mount

And here’s the all too familiar Slee

I will say that I use the Jerry can holder for my Yeti cooler almost every weekend, 3 seasons out of the year (not necessary in the ADX 🥶)
