After striking out trying to find 32x9.5s or 31x9.5s in any amount of resonable time I am now leaning towards lifting the 40 so I can get 33x10.5s in there. I like the HFS lift kits but they are at premium cost. How are the Iron man kits? Any other brands I should check out? Thanks.

Hell Creek has a terrible website :-(...I have been to several companies sites but I was curious for local experience with the different lifts over our local terrain. Everything seems to say go 4", because size matters....Or something.

Man, Those Man-A-Fre Mojave kits are pretty sweet and seem pretty all inclusive. Do I "need" the shackle reverse kits? Cause it makes a lot of sense...I feel a disturbance in the force that I'm about to spend this weeks paycheck...

Gabe here in Fort Mill bought from Hells Creek. I think he got the 2.5" for his 40 and tested them out in CO last summer. From what I recall, he didn't have any regrets.

If I ever find the $, i think I'll do the same or OME.

I thought you were staying stock? You might wanna get the tires then get a lift if the rubbing is bad for you. You might not need the lift if you never leave the road. Plus, tires aren't necessarily true to size and will vary by brand. Are your rear fenders cut? I've been relatively fine with no lift but I've got cut fenders - but I'd have a lift by now if I hadn't have bought the 80.

Oh, the number of times I've watched this slippery slope :D

Alcan makes great springs the correct length. Many aftermarket lift springs are too short. They need to be long enough at ride height to provide a decent shackle angle... think / for the front \ for the rear (viewing from the driver side). Lots of kits give you a 90* shackle (think | ). This creates a really rough ride. I had a Pinnacle 4" kit from JTO. They were horrible out of the box. I moved my shackle hangers giving a better angle and they started to flex and break in after a couple of trail runs.

Also, remember, shackles need to be long enough to accommodate the the length of the spring when flat - lift springs have more arch, so they get a lot longer when they flatten out.

Slippery slope indeed! John I want to stay stock height I just feel limited on tires. But I found some ProComp 31x10.5s I like the look of and 4wheelparts is running a pretty good deal on them. The Man-A-Fre kits look really impressive. If I do lift it I am going with 4" and not 2.5". But time will tell. A lot depends on what 4wheelparts says when I call them tomorrow. Man-A-Fre makes stock springs if I decide to go that route. I think stock height looks classic old school...Like some of you older gentleman here. Refined and dignified. Yeah, thats it.
