For those who changed the suspension. Was it worth it? Why did you change it? Was it for the looks? To be honest the new LC that are equipped with the KDSS are great on/off-road. When I am travelling through the desert going 80+ km/h I don’t feel a need to change the suspension. Correct me if I am wrong or if you believe that it improves the ride quality.

I really cannot attest to anything suspension related and ride quality factors, and neither can most, as when upgrading suspension usually tires/wheels are installed simultaneously. This in itself invalidates a controlled test of suspension delta.

The major reason for a suspension upgrade, in my opinion is to get increased height matched with the ability to run larger tires. When upgrading tires, it's usually a move from P to LT-metric as well for increased strength and from highway to AT/MT for ability.

Don't let KDSS fool you into thinking this feature is lost when replacing suspension -- it is very much not.

Running a high-performance coil-over shock should increase your ability to desert race, however you might not want the added height increase on sand.

In sand, having a large sidewall with the ability to deflate significantly greatly increases traction. So if you were to install a coilover setup such as the ICONs, change to 17" rims and run a taller and wider MT tire, you'd most likely be very pleased with the results and increased performance.

Try My setup and u will never regret it

i drive my car in the same enviroment "sand" in high speed 80-120 kmh.
and its flowless ride! with the extra travel from UCA and the coilovers, ur traction will increase drmatically, specially with the AT/MT tires.

not to forget the bumps on the deserts, which makes ur car flys in the air, ur landing much better !!

if u by any chance in kuwait, u can try my ride ;)

I hope your right when you say that the feature is not lost. True I don’t need the added height but i believe that the ICON's are adjustable. I have the ICONs on my Tacoma and they are great but I don’t see the full setup for the LC. They have the Frontend taken care of only. Also, I use the Balloon tires for sand. They are kind of slick or bald tires and wide. When I air them down, the rig floats over the sand.

Inshallah I will try it. Thank you for the offer. When I upgrade my suspension I would like to know where is the shop that did the alignment for your rig. Also, can you give me the part number for the fox shox. Thanks in advance. I am not into the AT/MT tires, Balloon fit my needs.

I've got the Icon front set up and OME rear and the rig drives like a dream on washboard tracks and regular desert driving. I drove my 200 to Dubai to get the Icons installed, and after numerous attempts to get the KDSS to level, we gave up and removed it altogether and went with the conventional sway bar set up. I couldn't be happier, and frankly I can't even tell the difference with the KDSS on or off.

Mashallah what a great truck it is.

You cant go wrong with getting the suspension done, and I'm sure you,d kick arse with the balloon tires as well.

Dooo it!!!

Forget the balloon tires -- I say lift it 3", add a supercharger bump to 550hp, then add some massive paddle tires and ROMP ON IT! :bounce:

This is the next step in ride quality and bottoming resistance for daily drivers.

King Shock's IBP (Internal ByPass). I've been working for years with the Ohlins PDS stuff on ATV, Snowmobiles, and my Tundra. With King bringing this great system to market, we have a relatively affordable and size appropriate option available. Shortly, I'll be installing some long travel IBP units in my Tundra. King has non IBP shocks for the 200 available now, the IBP for stock arms will hopefully be available later this year. Drop me a note if you are interested in any of it.

Wallah thats not a good sign, because the KDSS has a big impact on making the ride smoother. If you a person that travels a lot across the country such as myself, you would need the smoothness. However, I do want to upgrade to something better not harsh like the ICONS. I had the ICONs on my truck all around and the drive was harsh but it was great offroad.

Suprecharger is out of my range for now. I am looking into a Doug Thorely Headers, CAI and a unichip. Other than that will be too much for the 4.7 engine.

I am intersted in knowing how much is it going to be? When will it be released. Thanks

Does King valve them properly and tune them custom for the 200?

The Tundra set of 4 without the IBP feature costs $2224. I will have a price on the IBP feature this week... I don't have a definet ETA... later this year is all I was told.

Yes they valved and tuned properly, King builds them as a 200 Series specific set.

I'm confused as to what IBP does? Benefit?

IBP increases the dampening as the shock strokes through the travel. The last inch or two of travel can even be tuned to create a hydraulic bump stop effect. Thus, the initial valving can be left stock soft or even softer w/o worry of blowing through your travel... have your cake and eat it too.
