Replacing my worn out stock suspension, thinking which lift should i get.
OME Med 2.5
OME stock height
TJM 2.5
Which of these kits has the best overall ride on road?

It will depend on how well you match the spring to the weight you carry, and how well you pair a strut with those springs. There is no right answer that will apply to everyone's situation.

I don carry much weight in cruiser. Just me inside no 3rd row. Empty truck. Sometimes 2-3 other passengers. Its my daily driver.
Btw stock 91 FJ80. Tires are 265-75-16 @ 38 psi

I just installed the TJM 2.5" lift with 9-way adjustable shocks. Ride is slightly firmer than stock but still very comfortable. I'm still tweaking with the shocks to find the perfect setting. I achieved exactly 2.5" of lift over my stock springs. Now I'm just trying to decide what size tire I should run!!

do not get ome shocks with lift ,they are not smooth.

TJM progressive rate springs ride nice...

Not in my case...I'm running OME 2.5 850 front and 863 rears with the Nitocharger Sport Shocks and the truck rides like a dream.. I have since added a lot of weight in 100 lbs Rack , rear bumper , ARB drawers about to put a winch and Jerry can holder and feel like its a little soft so may move up to 851-J in the front and 864 in the rear
I was very surprised at how much better the truck rode over the stock set up...I have zero issues with the ride

Ditto on the Ironman. I have the 2" springs with fresh OEM Tokico shocks. Rides great.

Thanks for all your replies. Im now leaning towards the TJM adjustable kit from SLEE. Anybody know the best setting for TJM shocks?
Anything to worry about the caster bushing?
Mostly driving on the streets tho.

I have the 2.5" TJM adjustable.

If you think about the settings, 1-9, with 1 being the most firm (it really does ride like a school bus on that setting), I run mine on 7 for daily driving.

Too loose and steering gets vauge. Too harsh and you loose your fillings.

On trails, it's WONDERFUL set at 9. Washboard roads, big rocks - it's all good. But I don't care for the feel (or lack thereof) for DD on that setting.

As for castor correction, I put in the OME 2.5' bushings, and I'm still a little out. I'm debating going back to OEM with plates.

Overall I'm VERY happy with the setup. I do wish I had done a 4", however...

I suggest you have Slee also send you his blue caster bushings

Just curious was your shocks set at the softest setting? thinking of getting this set up

The shocks were shipped at the softest setting if that is what you mean. Measurements were also taken with shocks at the softest setting. I am running them at middle setting for street riding.

I'm very happy with the TJM 2.5" with fixed rate shocks. After having one million adjustments available for the coilovers on my car I decided to let the experts choose a single rate for the LC. So far so good.

How does the ride compare now with the lift?

I was going to ask the same question when I searched and found this thread. It's only a couple months old so I figured a few more could chime in with knowledge/experiences before I get my 2" lift set. The only difference is I'll be driving on the beach a lot as opposed to dirt/offroad, and of course on the roads to get to the various beaches. This will be a fishing truck, and so lightly loaded like the OP.

It's a stock 97 with 157k miles and stock 275/70's, going up a couple of sizes after the lift.

Thanks.
