This could be of shared interest between J250 and J300 owners and other possible current and future TNGA-F products.

So I know some people like base steel wheels, especially those looking for narrower tires.

Toyota has made plenty of 6 lug steel wheels in the past but for now I am focusing on the steel wheel that came out during the TNGA-F era.

So starting with the J300,
We have this base wheel option ( which doesn't clear the front of higher spec 300s FYI )

Part number

Option 2
is the '24+ Tacoma steel wheel ( the more traditional hole steelie design )

17x7

Part Number

They also have a Type H ( which I assume is the same but in black for spare applications? ) not sure of the part number

I hope I didn't get any part numbers wrong.

We still have the Overseas J250 Prado base model wheels to look forward to. Hope it has a nice steel wheel option.

Some people here run J150 Prado steelies and also Hilux steelies on the 300s but they are not a perfect fit.
Offset is too negative and they need hub centric rings or else they have a gap and cause a vibration.

So as good as they look for some they are not the ideal solution. Which is why I focused this thread on current TNGA-F era options.

I’ll most likely be trying to source the 18” Tundra steels for winter tires on my 250. I figure they will be the easiest to find, and I like that they look the same as the 300.

I think I just am not a fan of the silver. Black would be fine. The silver ones remind me when cars first went to the small spare.

The reason I’m partial to steel rims in the winter is because aftermarket aluminum rims give a “modified car” look.

I'd rather just pay to have winters switched over on the factory rims. I usually end up really liking the factory rims so I'd rather look at those the 6 months I have winter tires. If I'm paying all this money for the vehicle I don't want the rims to be the one thing that I keep looking at and disliking.

Steel wheels are not for everyone that is for sure.

I personally have a soft spot for the round hole steelies.
Some 255s on those. If done right works perfect.

Would run them without those hub caps though.

I am used to seeing them though on LC and LX since they are some of the most popular wheels options around here.

I don't like the other design though just the one with round holes.

I've got a set of Nomad Convoys ordered, but this would be a lot cheaper. Anyone know the offset on the 24 Tacoma Steelies? There was a post on the LandCruiser forum that said they were 26lbs which is the same as the Nomads. Guessing these are the same +55 offset as the Tacoma?

Ever get the Nomads? I was considering those but only saw a 9" wide rim with +25 offset which would leave more poke than I would like.

Looks great! What tire size you running?

How much room for brake caliper?
