Well it looks like there’s clearly a left preference. The over the right shoulder blind spot does make sense. I think mounting at bit lower would help especially with 37s.

When I bought mine Kaymar was not back in the US. They are now though. The Dobinson may be a close replica, but it works fine. For me it is a place to hold my tire as my LRA fuel tank consumed my spare tire spot.

I was always under the impression that the tire sits to the opposite side of the fuel door. This would allow fuel cans to sit closer and hopefully use a shaker or transfer pump to move fuel into the tank.

Anything but center. I like mine on my 60 on the left side for visibility. Although some time I wonder if having it on the left would help some of my cruiser lean.

On my RHD troopy, the tire is on the left and it makes visibility difficult. For the troopy I had to go left side so I could use the back door without opening the swing out every time.

The spare could definitely help be a counterbalance.

I don't have a cruiser lean, but do balance the side to side weight.
Makes a big difference on a lifted rig...
Spare tire/ bag tire, spare parts (quarter panel), water, and fridge on the DS.
Galley box, drawer, gear/pooches, and spare fluids (quarter panel), camping chairs on the PS.
Tools in rear tailgate.

Bike hitch on the PS too, but it's centered..
