I just ordered up a full kit for my FJ60's interior. I went with green for the dash. I am excited because my dash lights are in poor shape.

Thanks to sl33py and everyone else in the thread who posted pictures, info and part numbers!

Used the info from here to upgrade my interior / dash lights. Great and easy upgrade. Only thing I can
add is, if you have a tilt wheel, remember to lower it all the way before removing gauge cluster. Duh, it
took me to struggle with the reinstall for a while before I thought of it...
Thanks for the info...
Mark..

I used this thread to take on the challenge of my own LED replacements in my 24v HJ61. Thanks for all the details.

No criticism of the OP, I had a bit of trouble following a table with names of the suitable LED's and took photos of what I used instead. There is a write up with pictures on my own website at this link.

I've not yet driven it at night, but it looks okay to me. The speedo cluster does not look really really bright and these are the standard LEDs. I'll see how I go and might upgrade to the brighter LEDs if I need to.

glad it could help guys.

great to see this pop up every once in a while.

I agree that some people need tables, others pictures, others lists... And then you add in 12v, 24v (diesel lucky bastards!), 60, 61, 62's... etc.

So what you did is what i did. figured out the bulbs i had... what the equivalent is, and what colors i needed/wanted.

cheers!

Great, now I have to do this also... Whenever you try it at night, lets us know, I'm curious how the white led are, I'm afraid they are too bright (...)

i did this awhile back and put together a compleat list of what i used. i have an 86 fj and this has worked for me. i did put in some alternates to the ones that require alot of work, i havent tried them but they look like they might work better than what i used.

So I'm researching bulbs.

WLED-xHP is $4.95

WLED-x is $1.39

Is the $5 bulb worth it? I don't mind the light level of the stock bulbs. I'm just worried about heat. I just got a used harness in good condition. All of my old twist lock sockets were burned up, so I want to keep this one in good shape.

How bright are the stock bulbs compared to the WLED-x? I know the "xHP" is 4 times brighter than the "x". Most of you guys have gone with the WLED-xHP though. hmm

I figure I'm going to go with the cheaper WLED-x in green for the speedometer, tach, multi-cluster, and 4WD. I assume the inclinometer will use the same bulb? If so thats 6 of WLED-G-120.

Do you guys recommend 90 degree or 120 degree for the dash?

Then I need something for the heater controls. Gonna go with the little block of 9. Part# 3022-G9.

I'm just going for the minimal approach here. Not gonna change all of the smaller lights. Just the ones that are always on when driving at night.

Even if this post is for my own reference thats okay :)

djoneab that looks good. I like the blue more than red. The needles stand out a lot.

I need to confirm:

- What size the A/C bulb? I'm reading NEO5 but then it needs to be modified?

- What size is the inclinometer bulb? Same as speedo, tach, multi-cluster?

TIA

just a tip to get you tach brighter get a bulb with more angle i used the wled-whp9-t and my tach is just as bright as the rest of my dash. i love the blue it dosent hurt my eyes after a long night run.

Got my lights in the mail today.

Inventory:

  • WLED-G-120 for speedo, tach, multi-cluster, 4WD, and inclinometer (6)
  • 3022-G9 for HVAC controls (1)
  • BA9SF-G-12V for Sunpro gauge (1)
  • 67-W9-WV for license plate lights (2)
  • 67-W15 for front corners (2)

I am happy with the level of light I got from the WLED-x in the dash gauges.

I will take night pictures when I get the chance and report here.

$41 worth of LED's (note the BA9 is for my Sunpro vacuum gauge)

Kline, Where did you order from?

J

I ordered from them (superbrightleds) they have the right stuff. The parts all worked. Shipping is reasonable. So I don't really mind the prices. I'd order from them again.

Make a note that if you order those WLED-xHP bulbs it will greatly increase the price. 4 of them are $20. I paid $5.56 for 4.

Which bulbs are you looking to replace?

Kline, I was looking at side markers( front and rear), license plate, and corners.. I got all the interior from Leonard but, he was out of the 5W/7W reverse CREE backups. I still want those...

J

I think the 67-W9-WV would be bright enough for the front corners. That saves a few bucks. Just get four of those ($5 each). And then you need 4 bulbs for the side markers. The WLED-x5 is what I would go with. 220 degree beam. 2 amber, 2 red. $3 each.

$32 ain't bad.

The 7W Crees are BA. I have a set installed.
