LED Headlight Install, 2000lm each no external driver

I ordered mine 2 weeks ago. They arrived today and I installed them. They went in easily but I am slightly disappointed, and maybe it was something I did wrong, but I doubt it. The passenger side beam pattern has 2 hot spots, where you can tell the 2 LEDs are not being reflected properly. Do the LEDs need to be pointing up and down or left and right, or does it even matter?

Any help with that is appreciated ^

I was also expecting them to be way brighter. The color temperature is cooler than stock, which is nice, but I was expecting them to cast light a little further. Maybe they just need some aiming. For $60 they aren't bad.

Just use the X Y adjusters and that should be it for aiming. The housings are reflecting light like the halogens and the bulbs on the LEDs have 2 per bulb. Once you set the aim that should be it.

I received mine today. Tried to take a quick look to see about installing them and I am bewildered. I have never changed the headlights on this truck and it is a tight squeeze. No other car I have owned has had such a tight squeeze to change the headlights. The coolant reservoir has to be removed! Anyone have any tips or tricks for replacement. Because at this point, it seems like a hassle.

The coolant overflow just slides up. Grab it by the 2 hooks and lift.

Did anyone get the low-beams with EXTERNAL drivers? I just received 9006 and 9005 with external drivers.

I'd rather not have to mount more drivers but with the shipping time and probable return costs I will keep them.

one other question.. the bulbs I have are one-sided - do I aim that up or down when I insert? I won't get outside to install 'til later so thought I'd ask in case the tabs are symmetrical.

thanks!

just got mine a couple days ago. It took close to 3 weeks. I went to install them and my wife yanked them. Apparently they are a Christmas gift. I wasn't real happy with that. Now I have to wait 5 more weeks to put them in. That sucks!!

I knew there was a reason I didn't get married! lol

Hmm I dunno, I purposely bought the 2 LED per bulb. Interesting to see how they throw the light with 1 LED

Yeah I didn't realize there were options. Something tells me 2 LED > 1, and the return process will be slow : (

Mine showed up. They were the 2 LED. Didn't realize there was a choice. They make the stock lights look kind of silly. Probably going to do the high beams also. I think the bulb housing is a little worn so one of the bulbs feels pretty loose. I think one washboard road may back it out. Need to tighten up the fitment somehow.

both my highs and lows are single LED. does anyone else have just single LEDs?

Mine felt loose a little but I just tried inserting them (tabs at a different location till it got tight, you have to turn it with some force to tighten correctly but they should fit in tight.

Logic says you would want the led facing up so the beam bounces off the top and points down.

I just recently got the external ballast single LED's.

Installing them this way I haven't had anyone flash me and I can see the road beautifully.

The only thing I worry about is color temperature, I don't want it to look tacky.

Thats what I thought about the color but its pretty cool looking actually. You can see a bit of blue but not much.

Did you get the single LED 9006's (low beam) or 9005's (high)?

I seem to only be able to install them facing down. Will check them out later, would def rather not have to send back. Color temp looks great IMO.
