Dang it, I bought new headlights last week. I may have to drive around with my low beams on all the time so I can burn em out faster! Those look nice.

FYI.. I'm sure most know this, but just in case.. The 100 series have separate low & high beam bulbs from the factory. I installed Torchstar LED's on both

FYI: See links below. I'm not sure how different these are from the Torchstar LEDs (packaging looks very similar), and not sure if you are afraid to order from China or willing to wait (yes, there are risks), but I thought this looked interesting:

9005

9006

I ordered from the links above, will let know when I receive them (could be a while).

Note: I don't have any ties to the above links nor am I recommending them, just thought I would post these as another option...

I've never had issues with shipment direct from China.

I like where the literature picture on the website is entitled "Product Dialysys"

I have a thread on this. I have 80 watt LED's in my headlamps. as nice as they are, they don't throw far. I will be trying out a set of projectors and reporting bacl

Are they Torchstars? I noticed that other LED vendors sell a longer bulb that could explain the lack of throw you're experiencing

After my LED headlights going out on my Tacoma after a month, I'm weary about getting them for the LC.

Mine just arrived. Little too tired this evening, I'll be doing them tomorrow morning.

Here we go, easy install and they look awesome...very bright! I also changed the running lights (168s) with some LEDs I had left over from Pfrans interior kit. Can't wait to check them out at night.

I'm guessing they will be bright to opposing traffic. The pattern on my garage wall is a bit higher than stock.

I finally received the 9005 and 9006 LEDs ordered from Aliexpress (in the links above in my previous post). The packaging was NOT the same as the Torchstars (or as was pictured in the Aliexpress ad), but the bulbs looked identical to the Torchstars, including the numbers printed on the little black box. I put the high beams and the low beams in and everything seemed fine.

However, the Day Time Running Lights don't work. As others have said here, and as I understand it, the DRLs should be the 9005 (high beams) running at lower power, and this may not be compatible with the LED. Some of the previous postings said that the Torchstars worked fine as the DRLs, but unfortunately mine from China do not... Maybe I should have searched for one that specifically said daytime running lights? I have emailed the seller to see if he has any ideas (maybe I just need to switch out the little black box?)? There were one set of resisters included, maybe I need to install the resisters (can't imagine that would help). Regardless, the DRL issue really isn't a problem for me, because I run my headlights on ALL the time anyway...

Overall, I am pleased with the LEDs. The white light is different and takes a little getting used to. At first I was really paying attention and I didn't think the LEDs added much light. But then I started my wife's LX470 (which has projectors/halogens and her lights always seemed better than my non-projector halogens in the Land Cruiser), and using that as a comparison, I think (just my opinion) the LEDs are better (but it is different). The halogens project a yellowish light and you tend to notice it more, but the LEDs are white and you don't really notice it unless there is something in the road to be illuminated (again, just my weird opinion).

Others have said that the LEDs may not "throw" the light as far, and while this may technically be an issue, I didn't really notice it compared to my wife's LX470.

Overall I'm pleased and will probably replace the fog lights as well (with the ones from China - I'm just cheap).

My drl doesn't work either. I just installed authentic torchstar led 9005 and 9006 last night. Nice upgrade but no working drl. Before and after pics. I already upgraded the fog bulbs with led. Driver side has an hir bulb in the before photo

My DRL was working fine when I installed the headlight bulbs yesterday I noticed it flashed on randomly, I know my brothers is working fine. I'm going to look into this in the next few days and see if I can figure out what is going on, it has not affected low/high beam operation but I will see what I can come up with!

Did you get anywhere with the drl issue? My drl stopped working once I put these torch stars in

Haven't had a chance to mess with yet....

I was able to install the low beam 9006 Torchstar LED's without any problems. DRL's worked fine as well. Had to move the battery to install the drive side low beam bulb.

Made a big difference in the trip to Tahoe! :)
