It runs the gamut... everyone does their own thing. Hotels, camping, vacation rentals, and everything in between.

I know at least one guy who slept in his truck high up a mountain trail the night before the opening event… So ya. “Everything in between” :)
This went live right when we were driving code 3 to an “animal bite” call which was actually a frail 70yr old woman that got rammed by an angry pregnant goat. For those that assume I’m joking.. I’m not.

Maybe the universe’s way of saying I should let someone else go to LCDC.

As a long time teacher who has heard every immaginable excuse for not turning in assignments… You **officially** win the excuse prize. 🏆

Hope she’s OK.

This deserves a vip pass to the event.

No special treatment for me, thanks.

And I had a feeling I’d regret not getting a picture of the goat tied to a tree with my rescue webbing. I’ll need to see if anyone else got something. I can’t get into specifics on the patient but fire was cleared from the scene promptly after wrangling said goat, as an indicator of severity.

You and @CharlieS are welcome to ride with me but I’ll likely have the kids so I expect it’ll be a tight squeeze.

Get on the waitlist in any case. Most years a bunch of people end up bailing as the event gets closer

Looks like I'm in. I'm really looking forward to meeting you all in Breckinridge!
Edit: Cole let me know I didn't actually make the cut. Apparently Eventbrite allowed me to register for the event after it was sold out, so I am waitlisted. Maybe next year! You all have a great time.

Thanks for the generous offer!

If I don't get in through the waitlist, I'll most likely explore the area solo with my son. I've done the self-guided thing in Colorado with a motorcycle and there's definitely no shortage of amazing places to explore. With any luck I'll still get to meet some 'mudders around the campground or around town.

I think you need to change your Mud handle to Bock:

I appreciate it! I may swing by as part of a longer trip to silverton/Ouray area.. will be watching things to see what happens.

That guy is much less fat and much more happy than our goat today..

Brother and I each got a spot.

Willing to let them go for the right price. Also selling PS5s, Nvidia GPUs and XSX’s.

Another registration day in the books. Congrats to everyone who got in, and sorry to everyone who's missing out due to the event's limited capacity.

I have a couple stats to share along with a few notes to clear up a couple items mentioned in the thread.
  • Cheers to @molanginaeda for being the first person to register.
  • The event reached capacity in 8 minutes.
  • There were a few isolated but certainly frustrating registration hiccups. Once the event reached capacity, there were still "donation" tickets available and parts of the registration flow and communication made it seem like someone who donated without a driver registration was registered for the event. In those cases, we refunded the donations and ensured that the individuals were placed on the waitlist in the order they would have been if they'd originally joined the waitlist instead of placing a donation order.
  • For those who did register as a driver but omitted any donations, you can now revisit the registration flow and make a donation if you'd like. On that note, thanks to everyone who did provide a donation! Our average donation turned out to be right around the target cost per driver -- that's good news! It means we get to actually have the event, lol :)
  • It's true that the registration site went public on Eventbrite before we intended; however, there were no registrations from people with a timestamp earlier than when the email hit their mailbox. We will prevent this loophole the next time around.

Was able to sneak in this morning at 1005 MST. See y'all at Breck!

Being first one register is my luck. I’m sitting at a Walmart parking lot on my cell. Keep refreshing my email as early as 11:55am EST. Got the registration email at 11:58am and registered by 12:00pm EST. My wife think I’m shopping for Black Friday.

@indycole Donation inbound. Thank you.

@indycole - for the suggestion box, when you have some time …maybe post a few “Do’s and Don’ts” for those of us non-registered peeps who may be ‘cruising’ through town or might just happen to be in the neighborhood at the same time. I stumbled into LCDC7 quite unwittingly and wasn’t sure about protocol or good manners. I was only an infrequent mud lurker at the time and didn’t want to horn in uninvited - just judging from the high number of guests viewing this thread today and those who will likely stay waitlisted, I’ll wager that others might find it useful. For example, maybe just let folks know if there are certain events or days where “others are welcome” and/or events where it’s limited to “strictly registered” folks. Thanks for keeping us informed. Hope y’all have a great time.

Good idea. We’ll do that.

Got in yday and very much looking forward to it - never been to the area in the summer.

Same as last year, my wife and I will likely fly fish the weekend before in the area. Message me if anyone wants to know when we make those plans. We were able to do a combined camp/fish trip last year that dovetailed w/ LCDC quite well.

I would be interested in knowing about the fishing.

We would we interested as well!

We didn't make the cut but already booked hotel reservations. Fly fishing would make my wife very happy. Might knock me out of my funk at the same time. Really bummed that I didn't get the Registration confirmation.😫

I think there are many that didn't make the cut that are still coincidentally going to be in Breck that week 🤣. I say we call ourselves the 'B' team.
