I think there are many that didn't make the cut that are still coincidentally going to be in Breck that week 🤣. I say we call ourselves the 'B' team.

Heh… :) Even though official events are logistically limited to registration… —When you bump into LC folks we’re all A-team. 👍🏼

Folks already booked in hotels, etc. will have a great week no matter what, and LC folks are gonna wanna meet yall.

Breck is unique from other LCDC locales as it has has a ton of things to do both on and off trail. Kayaks & bikes to rent at Frisco & Breck…

also drive down to Buena Vista and go white water rafting. Fun thing to do if you haven't. That is where I (local) went. not far from Vail which is cool to walk around the town center area

I’d be down to join the b team, I just want to be able hit the trails with someone who knows what they are doing and have no clue how challenging the trails are there. I have a lot of skills but being born and raised in Florida my mountain driving experience is limited to driving to the ski resort from the airport. First time I went snow boarding I went from the bunny hill to black and recall being awakened and asked what year it was. I learned pride is a sob.

Well I'm on the waitlist. I did breck on my own last year and it was fun! Hopefully I get a shot again this year with ya'll.

Jeff

Sounds like we have our b-team trail guide!

Haha. While that might be a very, very, slim possibility due to my work schedule, in good conscience, I can't interfer with LCDC and the awesome guys who put this on every year. I would recommend looking into a different location within the region that way, in the evening people could meet up for dinner etc. The trails are pretty narrow and even my single 200 had to avoid an insane amount of side by sides and other vehicles on the trails during that time frame, it'll be a cluster.

I recognize that July is a ways off but has anyone received any further details regarding LCDC?

Thanks, didn't mean to me a nudge at all.

Finally booked my lodging for LCDC! Now it’s time to start prepping the 200. Can’t wait to see everyone!

For folks coming from the east, when you get to Denver or Colorado Springs area, you can take part of the Enchanted Rockies Trail from Deckers to Breckenridge. It's a nice mix of rural state highway and dirt forest roads that goes through Boreas Pass and will dump you on the back side of Breck. Of course you can continue on if you have the time.
Read more about it here: Enchanted Rockies Trail GPS Data - Deckers to Hot Sulphur Springs (CO) - Lifestyle Overland - https://www.lifestyleoverland.com/enchanted-rockies-trail-gps-data-deckers-hot-sulphur-springs-co/

I'm starting to plan for this and I have a question -

In the past, LCDC was scheduled for 5 days (e.g, 7/29/2020-8/2/2020 and 7/28/2021-8/1/2021). This year, the announcement lists four days, from July 25-28.

Can anyone tell me if what this means for the schedule, in regard to opening night activities and trail runs? What was dropped?

Thanks!

Actually, past events simply started on Wednesday (opener)…then 3 days of trails, Th, Fri, Sa.
—4 days.

Only difference this year is it starts on a Monday. Soooo… Monday opener…then 3 days of trails, Tu. We, Th.
- 4 days.

Thanks! I get what you're saying, and I'll interpret Indycole's "like" of your response as agreement.

However, if you'll actually look, you'll see that announcements for prior LCDCs sometimes had a 5-day span. (Two examples below)

So it looks like this year's announcement just isn't including a final unofficial day where no trail rides are scheduled, whereas previous announcements sometimes included that Sunday.

Yes. Sorry. Its true that sometimes people opted to do a bit more on Sunday morning, but it was often sorta unofficial stuff that wasn’t really baked into groupings to sign up for etc.
Your question makes perfect sense if looking at those. 👍🏼

Just for those who may be new… Its also common & fun for random pals hitting trails or doing pre-runs prior to official start, and after closing. So if you planned more days, you could definitely hit more trails on either end with new or old friends. 👍🏼
