Hmm doesn't look like Markuson's rig though, unless you mean he knows the owner of it. Seems like it has a TT front bumper but the rear bumper with the top tube work looks different than anything I've seen previously.

Yeah my bad. On mobile I thought you were referencing a different photo.

Not me… I don’t recognize that roof rack arrangement. Its got an interesting piece over the rear hatch... ?

But maybe Matt @TheGrrrrr was “paging me” because he knew I’d relate to @linuxgod ’s post wishing for a chart attaching driver’s real names with their often oscure mud screen names ?
—Because…Matt inows I spent almost a full day at LCDC with a couple drivers I know well from mud…but I didn’t realize I was hanging with familiar mud pals. Arggggh! Felt like a real moron… :bang:

So… Yes to the name connection chart…but no help on that top view of that truck.

5th time's a charm, Mark! ;)

I don't recall whose truck that was. Sched shows me driver names but (a) I don't always remember the driver-to-rig mapping, and (b) two of the drivers just show as "Private" anyway. Hopefully they'll chime in.

Edit: From looking at the photo and the list again, it *might* be McLane. I don't know his handle though. Hopefully he's reading and chimes in

I actually just got confused by which photo he was referencing, but I suffer from the same problem of failing to connect real names with Mud handles. I also can't remember which event I have met people at and end up feeling like a moron, so I'm right there with you.

Adding to the challenge is—
--Photos of *actual driver’s faces* in mud photo posts are pretty rare.
-Lots of trucks, rocks and cliffs…but very few of current faces. Add a beard…or take one away. Hat or no hat… Little kids now bigger or gone… its tricky.

Funny personal example… A couple events ago…I decided to show up WITHOUT my typical hat….and suddenly…I wasn’t recognizable. ;)

So I guess its not just us… ;)

That is McLane's truck. Amazing build. I am not sure if he has a build thread or not. The gullwing windows and setup are legit. Fantastic rig. I don't know his Mud name though...

-Scott

Badass rig indeed. If he doesn't have a build thread hopefully I'll see it in person at LCDC next year!!

@msnow is his Mud name. :)

Nothing too technical, just @linuxgod leading us up some of Imogene’s amazing views..

I love Imogene. Definitely my favorite trail in the San Juans. Highly recommend everyone does it at least once in their life.

Thanks for the vid, and for not posting ones of me picking the *wrong* lines. I'd hate for people who follow me to find out the truth ;-)

Woah! Someone's got GFC Superlite RTT out in the wild. On a 200-series no less. So many questions!

Who's the owner/screen name of this fine white cruiser?
That's Josh from OnX. His screenname is @dntlflosstycoon

It's a pleasure to wheel with him. Here is some picture when our group head up to poughkeepsie via mineral creek.

Sweet. I'll IM him, unless he cares to share his thoughts with everyone here. I've got a GFC Superlite coming in sometime in September and would love to know his experience with it.

Oh, I’d love to share my thoughts. I don’t want to hijack the thread here, but I am very happy with the Superlite. Set up and breakdown is quick (but not as quick as a standard GFC RTT). It’s very well made and thoughtfully designed--simple and functional. Note that we couldn’t get the tent on the factory load bars because there isn’t enough clearance under the bars to get wrenches and hands. Other rack systems (Thule/Yakima, other full rack replacements) are the way to go. Because I had it installed by GFC at their shop, I haven’t really had to move it around off the vehicle, but I think two people should have a very easy time lifting on or off the roof.

GFC is in my town and I am newly friends with the founder (but I paid full price and waited out the COVID-related supply chain delays!), so I am a fan and friendly audience. The GFC vision is amazing: great engineering, commitment to paying people well, building a great U.S. business, and having a great time.

@TeCKis300 , I think you will be happy with your purchase. I recommend the mattress and GFC ladder as must-have accessories. (At all times I keep my pad inflated with a sleeping bag and inflatable pillow in the collapsed tent. It can be ready for a night in way under five minutes.) Also, congrats on your pending delivery. Last I checked, they had stopped taking new orders, hoping to migrate all Superlite manufacturing to the U.S.

you mean like this "wrong line" no one else could follow me on ;)

hehe. Well if you made it then it wasn't the wrong line ;-)

Not sure who was behind you but he'd have made it if he had both tires *on* the rocks and was straddling the gap.

Hah, while doing Kite Lake or Medano Pass on the way to Ouray I would randomly say out loud "ehh, not sure if this is really the right line" over some obstacle. After passing a off camber something or other my wife finally said "it doesn't seem like Sue (Cruisin' Susan is the trucks name) has a bad line." I just chucked and responded "well, I think there is Sues' line and just better than Sues' line." It really is impressive how well they do even for less skilled people like myself.

You are not wrong.

You are not wrong.
maybe not but I’ve done the same thing myself a few times (misjudge track width or approach or an obstacle). I was foiled by a (fairly small) rock on Moody Hill last year that caught my RLCA and stopped me from any forward progress. Didn’t even notice it until I couldn’t move. Guess that’s how some of us learn ;-D
