Rally Trail Run video. You know how much dust I’m consuming for taking the video action? Need new cabin filter after the dust storm.

With dramatic music

This was exactly what we needed after five months of laying low. More to come.

🩹 fixes everything
Eric, how’d you incur this damage? Also, pop it out and drill a hole for a snorkel.
Tree ran out in front of me. The XPEL prevented the paint from cracking, if it doesn’t pop out I already have my Fabulous Fabrication’s snorkel on stand-by.

Here is some video of the first portion of Storm Mountain... tried some different shots to capture the main obstacle, and the results were mixed... BUT... I did catch video of a dude beefing it on his quad coming down the obstacle, so enjoy that. The fun starts around the 5 min mark.
Nice! What did you use to edit the video?

First time at LCDC and it was fantastic! Cool trucks and even cooler people. @linuxgod and @Oakleyguy were awesome as trail leaders. This was really my first time doing any serious off roading and appreciate all the help and guidance from not onlythe leaders but also all of the other experienced folks in my groups. Heart-attach hill and the T13 crash site were amazing and I can't believe I got up and over with only a few scratches (stock rear bumper and wheel rims, I'll post photos later). A special shout out to @Hants who helped me get by the first rock I got my lower shock mount hung up on at the top of Heart-attach Hill . Afterward, when I said it looks like I need to invest in shock mount armor, he said "or you could just put the tires on top of the rocks". :) Sage advice and I think we all appreciated his spotting coming down the large rocks after after the climb up Heart-attach hill. He also brought his 80 and showed us all some cool things at the Chutes. Can't wait for next year. I'm hooked!

As proof I really had fun, I developed a small blister on the palm of my right hand apparently from the death grip I was using on the steering wheel.

Note for next year - thumbs in front of you on the wheel, not death gripping it. If the steering wheel kicks on a rock the death grip can break you thumbs if the steering wheel snaps

Yep, I was told that but...

here’s my damage pics:

Interesting “scoop” of tire removed. Didn’t notice this until I got home.

Driving home today (well, my wife is right now... I’m just riding shotgun) so I have some time to go through the last two weeks of posts since I lost cell coverage...

I know it was said last night but I’d still like to reiterate it today - thank you very much @codyaustin5 and @indycole, as well as to your wives, for all the work and patience that goes into an event like this. COVID certainly changed the big group gatherings, but face masks aside the trails and group interaction was just as great this year as it’s been since I was hurrying a CV repair in order to make it to Breckenridge four summers ago for my first LCDC

Thanks as well to all the trail leaders and tail gunners who helped out this year.

For those who were with me I’ll have tons of photos to post (largely thanks to my daughter Anna and older son Gabe), but it may take me a couple weeks to go through everything and clean them up.

This was my first official get together. @codyaustin5 and @indycole and their loved ones have my gratitude for organizing a wonderful event. And thanks to the vendors for supporting the fun. @sleeoffroad and @Dissent were a blast to wheel with. Really can't wait for LCDC in 2021, it can't come soon enough. And an additional thank you to all trail leads and gunners for making sure all the participants were safe and together. This community is special.

Mystery overnighter groups

Just got out of the shower and was thinking back on the last 3 kick @ss days.

First, the folks that came on the mystery trail were fantastic. I’ve lead/guided a lot of trails. I don’t think that I’ve ever had folks with such enthusiasm.

We ran one of the most difficult and arduous trails in the area (I knew y’all could do it) and to add insult to injury, a storm ripped through and turned the rock gardens into skating rinks and filled the mud holes to the brim with slop.
The group kept their focus and enthusiasm until the end where we forced them to drink margaritas at 10pm when we finally made it to camp.
We winched, we strapped, we maxtrax’d, we spotted. The teamwork was great, from slinging muddy maxtrax to holding flashlights and to making each other drinks at camp. Big shout out to mix master Amory for killing the bar setup.

It’s was soo great to see the permagrin on everyone’s face while ripping the sand dunes and doing back to back bumper deep water crossings for miles lol. We rolled into camp 3.5hrs late and I didn’t count a single frown.

Y’all are truely what makes this really really enjoyable. Thanks for the great adventure, and give yourself (and your wife and daughter) a pat on the back. I can’t wait to see your lovely faces next year.

If you have pictures I’d love to see them.

Sorry/not sorry for the long post :)

Thank you for a wicked fun time, it was spectacular! It could be quiet some time before that day can be topped! You guys deserve a big round of applause for setting up the private bar after a long day and enabling the fun to continue! Thanks again!

Back in Texas in one piece, Here's my one and only picture from the trip. This is from Cole's run of Johnny Park Road on Saturday.

Mandy, Tala, and I made it back to Nebraska today. We had a great time meeting so many people. Tomorrow ill do a post trip inspection but so far it looks like some minor rear bumper scraping (probably at storm mountain). I took a few pictures and ill try and get those on here asap. Drive safe everyone!

And here’s @codyaustin5 on Stone Mountain ...
...Climbing up and over the spot a random group in front of us was stuck on... We were stacking rocks for them and doing a little coaching. :)

Right after Cody went up...a poor guy on his quad tried to go DOWN and fell badly. Lucky his quad didn’t land on him. See @TheGrrrrr ’s posted video for video footage of the poor quad guy.

Fun times! :hillbilly: :steer:

Entering the Chutes on Kelly Flatts...
(no, I didn’t get up and through, or I’d be posting damage photos :) )

Foreground is Cole’s wife Bethany...gently (ha) reminding me I should probably stay seated while driving obstacles... :hillbilly:
