I have always wanted to go racing through desert dunes but I don't see how do you guys prevent something like this from happening:

I have the Icon's 2.5 with CDCs but I want something more. Personally I chose 2.5s over 3.0s because I didn't want to lift my vehicle.

How does the Radflo ride on the lc100, i was pretty close to installing them once, decided to go with kings though.
Radflo is wonderful on the 100. Very good compression and rebound. You have a range of 20psi nitrogen pressure to tune hardness to your liking and still preserve it's valving characteristics..

Haven't tried the Kings so can't compare..

I wouldnt drive like that on that terrain with that suspension. What flipped him over was his light tail with stronger springs than his bouncy shocks..
But then *hit happens I guess..

How fast were you going? You are getting me jealous now.

I feel like the real issue is the rear shocks more than the front. You have me considering to send my Icons back for revalving. I wish I had sprung for 3.0s esp for the rear but I think it would have required an aftermarket spring.

I am currently doing a long travel setup for the front end using ICON, 2.5 coilover, 2.5 Twin tube bypass, 14 inches of travel, ill leave the rear end for later, baby steps.

My advice to you is to go heavy on the rebound, but have it slightly lighter in the rear to keep the front end up. Trust me heavy is the way to go for stability.

I have the CDC and currently I am running S in rear and 9 in front. If I go to even 2 the ride is sooo rough even at high speeds that it doesn't make sense. My understanding is that Icon valves these from the factory for someone who has put alot of weight in the rear.

I do mostly highway driving but chicago highways are in constant construction and are totally ripped apart and completely uneven and I like driving 80-90mph through them at night (night Rider).

Its been a while! @Reckless. How's your setup doing know?

I love the setup although I do wish for more. Probably my only complaint with Icons is the slow speed bump handling. I noticed that even up to 40mph bumps can be slightly bumpy which usually means I floor the car over most bumpy roads. High speed handling is nice, the vehicle's sweet spot is ~70-80mph even over crazy construction roads. There is no comparison to stock (for those who have stock rides). Icons seem better suited for aggressive drivers.

I think I have put ~50k miles on the setup, still feels and drives like new, one thing I do appreciate about coilovers vs springs. I keep reviewing if I would have been better off with Kings and I don't think so at the 2.5 size. My understanding is if you go to 3" then you have to install new spring/lift. I run stock height but leveled using stock spring (for comfort). If I lived in the Gulf I would get King 3.0s.

I noticed the back shocks made the biggest difference more than the fronts when I put them on. I have not adjusted settings since I put them in. Adjusting the rears can be a hassle when you have sliders. The other day I fit 12 teens into the bruiser to get some ice cream down the street. The suspension was a bit saggy. We got airborne a few times while flying down empty steets/alleys.

My wish is for the ultimate suspension that makes my tank drive like a dream. Not sure if adding airbags to rear spring/shocks will help. I am too scared to lift and mess with the driving dynamics.

Awesome,

Let me try and help out isolate the issue here.

What tires are you running ? and on what pressure off-road/on road ?

What is your coil over spring rate ?

What rear coil spring are you running now ?

Are your front and rear ICON shocks running the factory valving? or did you change them.

Is your cruiser usually loaded with weight in the rear ?

How much preload are you running upfront ?

I am currently experimenting with my extended long travel ICON's to see if I can remove the shim stack preload, add a flutter stack and unscrew piston bleed ports to make them have progressive nature or reduce the digressivness. Especially on the rebound damping curve.

What tires are you running ? and on what pressure off-road/on road ? Ko2 42 psi on road/offroad trails

What is your coil over spring rate ? Stock icon

What rear coil spring are you running now ? Stock toyota

Are your front and rear ICON shocks running the factory valving? or did you change them. Original valving

Is your cruiser usually loaded with weight in the rear ? Empty rear

How much preload are you running upfront ? 9/10 on CDC makes more aggressive driving

I have the stage 6 3.0 Icons. So far I’m running 7 front and rear. They are very comfortable and handle the bumps at high speed pretty smoothly. A whole lot smoother than my previous 200 w/OME medium spring setup. At low speed, the ICONs are it’s pretty good but a bit stiffer than stock. I could certainly adjust them to a lower setting to soften them up but I prefer the road feedback. My biggest complaint is the massive amount of creaking I’m getting when coming to a stop or taking off. Local shop is assuming(on phone conversation)they need to be re-torqued since they haven’t been done for 13k miles. A little rust has accumulated around the ball joints. Part of me is thinking it’s the rear springs. I’ll find out when I drop it off in a few weeks. Otherwise, I love the ride they provide. Not looking forward to when I have to send them in to get rebuilt.
