I hope to see, sometime, a breakdown of model codes, engine codes, and trim levels and so on that make the LC200 different around the world. Consider this an installment of my contribution to that effort.

Oh, yea Forum Moderators, wherefore art thou? I appeal to thine sense of divine moderation to designate a place for such info, whereupon mine brothers and sisters in LandCruisership can ply supplications of technical details to an ark of knowledge, to be located in a place of your choosing.

The LC200 is currently available, in certain geographic areas, with the following engines (to the best of my knowledge so far):

5.7L Dual VVTI V8 381hp 3UR-FE
4.7L VVTI V8 271hp 2UZ-FE
4.0L VVTI V6 240hp 1GR-FE
3.0L D-4D Turbo Diesel 171hp 1KD-FTV
4.5L V8 D-4D Twin Turbo Diesel 282hp 1VD-FTV
4.5L V8 D-4D Twin Turbo Diesel 232hp 1VD-FTV (detuned for certain areas)

North America:
5.7L Dual VVTI V8 381hp 3UR-FE only :grinpimp: (504hp TRD supercharger please!:crybaby:)

Europe:
3.0L D-4D Turbo Diesel 171hp 1KD-FTV
4.5L V8 D-4D Twin Turbo Diesel 282hp 1VD-FTV (50hp more than the Middle East?)

Russia:
4.7L VVTI V8 271hp 2UZ-FE
4.5L V8 D-4D Twin Turbo Diesel 232hp 1VD-FTV (50hp less than Europe?)

Middle East:
4.7L VVTI V8 271hp 2UZ-FE
4.5L V8 D-4D Twin Turbo Diesel 232hp 1VD-FTV (50hp less than Europe?)
4.0L VVTI V6 240hp 1GR-FE

Africa:
4.5L V8 D-4D Twin Turbo Diesel 232hp 1VD-FTV (50hp less than Europe?)

South Africa:
4.5L V8 D-4D Twin Turbo Diesel 232hp 1VD-FTV
4.7L VVTI V8 271hp 2UZ-FE

Australia:
4.5L V8 D-4D Twin Turbo Diesel 232hp 1VD-FTV
4.7L VVTI V8 271hp 2UZ-FE

I know, there are continents missing, but hey, I can edit later.

TRD supercharger for the Tundra and Sequoia 5.7 V8 is rated at 504hp, come on TRD and get it done for the LC! MSRP $5,875 complete kit, + labor. :steer:

TRD supercharger for the Tacoma and FJ Cruiser 4.0 V6 is rated at 304hp. MSRP $4,500 with fit kit. Again, shouldn't all performance accessories be available for the LC?!:bang:

[Europe:
3.0L D-4D Turbo Diesel 171hp 1KD-FTV
4.5L V8 D-4D Twin Turbo Diesel 282hp 1VD-FTV (50hp more than the Middle East?)

The Land Cruiser 200 is available with the 4.7 is some european markets.

[4.7L VVTI V8 271hp 2UZ-FE

4.7 HP is 288 in LC 200

3.0L D-4D Turbo Diesel 171hp 1KD-FTV

Never seen or heard this. The Land Cruiser Prado has the smaller diesel.

Does any one know what the transmissions are? I think the 3ur uses the B800, but I'm not sure.

The 1KD engine is not available for the LC200. I mean, no 200 series leave the factory with the 1KD engine installed.

Sorry, but there is no such thing as a KDJ200 anywhere in the world.

I may stand corrected (I will have to check my source)

I believe you are right, I think I made an error when looking at specs for the the Land Cruiser Prado, which in some European countries they just call Land Cruiser. The LC200 is called the Land Cruiser V8 or Land Cruiser Station Wagon V8 in these places. Doesn't help with identity issues, but I suppose the marketing people do what they think is appropriate for the local markets. I guess I will have to correct the list and add some more info.

In Japan, the gasoline LC200 uses the 1UR-FE 4.6l V8 engine that delivers 234kW and 460Nm. 1 kW is about 1.34 HP, give or take. That's about 314HP, a better option that the 271HP produced by the 2UZ-FE 4.7l V8 used in the LC200 in most other markets.

Technologically, it's the little brother of the 3UR-FE 5.7l V8 used in the Lexus model equivalent.

One more thing, what is the material differences between the 3UR-FE engines in the LC, Sequoia, and Tundra (e.g. intake, head, ECU, &c).

I could be completely wrong, but as far as I can tell they are identical beasts. The difference is where they are built. The Tundra and Sequoia engines have mostly the same part numbers and are built in the US. The LC engine is the only remaining vehicle that is fully built, manufactured and assembled in Japan. For some reason the Japanese just build it better with lower tolerances.

The intakes are different (hence the lack of interchangeability) and so is the ECU programming (hence why I do not have a supercharger....YET!)

From what I hear, there is more room in the Tundra and Sequoia's engine bay and that is why the TRD will fit these applications and not the LC. The Tundra also has a much higher towing capacity, but most likely this is due to the slightly larger brakes and beefier rear diff.

As far as I can find out, all the 5.7L heads and blocks are cast by Bodine Aluminum in the USA. Motor Trend/Truck Trends lists Alabama as the sole world wide source for the 5.7L.

I'd really like to know the truth. It would be interesting if Toyota sends the blocks/heads to Japan for production. The inverse is that thyey produce them there, even though the US is the only 5.7L market.

Just want to add, that in denmark the model is avalible in two versions (its sold here under the name Landcruiser V8)

1 - 4.7 V8 Gasoline engine
32 valve DOHC, with VVT-i
288HP/212KW at 5400rpm
445nm at 3400 rpm

or

2 - 4.5 V8 Diesel
32 valve DOHC
Common rail Diesel
286HP /210KW at 3600 RPM
650NM at 1600-2800 rpm

I believe it was determined by parts content window stickers that:

Land Cruiser is assembled in Japan with 5% of major parts coming from Canada/USA
LX570 is assembled in Japan with 100% sourced from Japan.

It should say the breakdown on the window sticker at any US car dealer.

4.5L V8 D-4D Twin Turbo Diesel 232hp 1VD-FTV
4.7L VVTI V8 271hp 2UZ-FE

Hi mate.

Just looking through the forum and thought I would correct a slight mistake in relation to the Australia 1VD Twin Turbo Diesel engine.

The Aussie version comes from the factory with 262HP (195kw) and 650nm or torque.

The Twin Turbo Diesel also uses the AB60F (six speed) transmission.

Cheers
