I'm on three lists at local dealers. One asked me what trim and color I wanted, for what it's worth (this is the dealer that has my $500 deposit). The second did not ask (basically, you get what you get when we get allocations), and the third dealer (where I have a personal connection) said they wouldn't take deposits until they get allocated VINs.

No list for me, did that with the Bronco and Ineos. I will just wait until all the people who can afford to be cutting/bleeding edge car buyers and when one shows up, I will test drive and if I like it, I will buy it. This is to replace my motorcycles and my current Ford Edge as a dog transportation device.

Put down the deposit with the local dealer yesterday to eventually replace my current Tacoma. They promised no mark-up (though I think they do that "required" paint protection thst some do now). I'm number 6 in line and sales guy said he expected Q3 2024. They werent going to start taking color and trim preferences until full preorder details were released, at which time theyll call me for preferences. He expected January sometime.
Hoping for an Underground or black Land Cruiser trim. Pricing will determine if I do the premium or regular land cruiser. Very excited, even though there's a long wait ahead. I'll keep happily driving my taco until then!

Only 1 out the 7 dealers in my area were offering the ability to put down a $500 refundable deposit. The rest are waiting for allocations in Early Spring 2024. Might just take my chance and wait till then before trying to get on a list.
I got a call from my salesman yesterday with the same information about production being pushed back. I think I've seen it mentioned elsewhere, but he also stated quality control as the delay.
I have not seen anything official about the LC250 being delayed. Wonder if that is on track ?

The GX550 delay seems to just push it slightly to coincide with LC250 production so hopefully won't affect much. Additionally no official word has come on LC250 production yet so there's "nothing" to delay yet.
Lexus New Orleans verbally told me MSRP and that they never add a market adjustment. I’m on several lists. I don’t recall what the others said. I was ~#30 when I joined the list back in June ‘23.

I’m still theoretically on the local list (was #2), but I think we are leaning towards just getting a 4Runner TRD ORP and running that for a couple of years until the dust settles on these. I don’t want to go through a Bronco situation again (we waited a year and still didn’t get an assigned vin). We want to replace our Tundra in the spring, and I can see the delays piling on, along with frustration. Best of luck to those of you sticking with it!

Lexus Chantilly (Northern Virginia), no markups, willing to take deposits ($1,000 refundable), 6 month wait with current list.
I decided to wait for the Land Cruiser instead personally, but I was about to pull the trigger on getting a 550.
I don't see a Bronco scenario, as it seems that was largely tied to the COVID fog. A year from now, I'm guessing you can get any 550 you like pretty easily at MSRP if not a little less. Production numbers on these will be very high.

Well, we shall see I guess. If a 1958 model is sitting on the lot, or inbound and unassigned when the time comes, I will definitely put my name on it. I just don’t want to set myself up for a letdown. We still don’t even know what the MSRP is going to be. I’m not interested in payinf stupid money just to get an early one. The Lexus pricing is $26k higher than the 4Runner I spec’d, and I think I’d go $10k up for a 1958, but not $16-$20k. The gap between a TRD ORP 4Runner and a 1958 is not enough To warrant big money in my eyes. We shall see where things go…

I'm #2 on the list for a new LC in town, got on it back in August. 6 weeks ago got thinking about the unknowns, new powerplant, etc. and went to the dealer to test drive a used 2023 4R TRD ORP they had in stock. Asking the price for a new one on it. I was not impressed with it even compared to my 2013 T|X Baja Tacoma.
Then the salesman talked me into taking a 19 GX460 with 40K miles on it for a drive. I mean he had to really talk me into it, almost twisting my arm. I did and took a week and it is now sitting my driveway. Was going to keep the Taco as a trade in for the new LC but ended up listing it on FB marketplace and sold it last Saturday. Getting ready to take a Sawzall to the GX so guess it will be staying around for awhile.
As a daily driver, tow vehicle, Bird Dawg carrier, hunting rig and grocery getter. Drove 3 hours round trip to shoot 5 stand Saturday and got better gas mileage than the Tacoma did. In town and idling to warm up not so much. But the ride is night and day different and worth it. To me. Buying a V8 fuel economy shouldn't even be on the list of concerns anyhow. But overall isn't much different from the Tacoma if anything it is better as long as I stay out of town.
The dealer had a 77 FJ55 sitting on the showroom floor, not for sale. It was identical to my Iron Pig back in 79 except mine was solid white
Figured my first 4x4 was a LC so my last one should be as well. Looking at the FJ55 inside and out brought back a lot of memories. I also realized just how primitive it was in many ways.
I don't ever see myself going backwards now after driving the GX for awhile. Will keep track of the new LC and also the 550. 4Runner maybe but right now thinking 550 if and when I upgrade. I'm more than happy with the GX and the original sticker was in the glove box I got it for half the price it was when new 4 years ago. Originally thought of it as a stopgap vehicle although there was and is nothing wrong with the Tacoma but it was time to get out of a PU truck again. When the dealer gets a LC I will still check them out. Pretty sure that they are not in my near future, maybe down the road.
I’m a big believer in always keeping two cruisers on hand.

I have a 1st Gen Sequoia that is done up for the bird dogs and hunting/towing. The 4Runner is for the tax write off (lease) and my wife to drive as her company vehicle. She loves them, and had a 2020 Taco ORP as well, so knows what she wants. I will 100% revisit the 250 when she is ready to part with the 4Runner, or I am ready to sell the Sequoia (if I ever am).
