LC 250 Wait list?

How does one get on a waitlist for the new LC? Is there a website or do I have call my local dealer and ask to get on the list? Any strategies from salespeople familiar with this?
I went to the dealer I bought my Tundra from and asked to get on the list. They looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. No list there. They said I was the first person to ask and would take my number and call when one finally comes in. That was last week.
I just want to drive one and check it out before I get all emotional about it. I mean, in the Toyota world, when you step up the the Cruiser you get Toyota's heavy duty 4WD. If this thing is a lighter version then it truly is a Prado, and label it as such please.

Same here. last week I asked and they had no list started.

Let me know. I might take a surprise visit soon.

I have try Woburn, watertown, danver & Nashua. They all quote me a vehicle(not LC) with markup. I just walk out.

What happened to your 200? I was following along with your travels on EP some time ago.

Yea, this dealer is in a pretty affluent town so guess most people don't blink an eye.
I called my regular dealer the other day (I have the senior sales manager‘s personal cell number) and he wants my Tundra Platinum to sell, and we have bought quite a few vehicles from them. He says they have over 50 people on their wait list already. He also said he’s being told maybe 5-10 units per year for his allocation.

I have two dealers fairly close to where I live in the sticks, and called one last week, got no call back. The other is in a much wealthier area so might have a list going already but hopefully not with an adjustment. I might do $1000 over MSRP if I REALLY like the 1958, I will call both again on Tuesday.
My dealer told me it will most likely be 2-3 years before I will even see one as they are only making 4k first round. To put in perspective Ford Bronco built 160k cars for the first 6 months of 2023.
I had a Wildtrak on order in 2021 for a MY 22. Waited close to a year, and never even got close to getting a vin. If Toyota hasn’t learned from the s***-show that was the Bronco launch, we are in for a disappointing experience. I want to trade in my Tundra fairly soon, but I will hold off until I see how this thing plays out a bit more.

I called my local dealer $500 deposit and second on the list. They had gotten many calls but only 1 on the list at the time. They didn't know anything other than it was announced. It has been a month maybe should call and see what they know now.

Acton Toyota. I'll reach out to Lexington thx.
Weird. I was going to guess Wellesley Toyota — they suck. I had a good experience buying my 4Runner from Acton but that was over 20 years ago.

Toyota dealer near me has a wait list about 35-40 long for the 250 & said it will be a year and half for expected delivery.

Thought that was interesting. So they will likely get 2-3 250s a month.

Seems in line with what I was just told. The dealer I work with seems to think they might see 10 units total for the year, and they are one of the higher volume movers here in Western Canada. They have no idea which trim levels, colors, etc so when they get something they said I can take a look and see if I like the trim, color and options lol. Toyota appears to be one of the dealers that still don't have many vehicles available - whereas all the domestic lots are overflowing with new vehicles. There are still hardly any Sequoias anywhere around here despite pretty good wait lists.

I got myself at the top of the list at one local dealer. Sales manager seems like a good guy. His service manager (he’s from South Africa, so a LC enthusiast too), sent me pages and pages of tech stream when I was trying to troubleshoot my Sequoia 4wd system. I’m in talks with a second local dealer. I want to cover my bases. Although if Toyota puts MSRP on a 1958 at much more than $10k over a TRD-OR Premium 4Runner, I’ll probably pass.

The initial buyers are going to get hosed on these, but after the initial wave I don't think the ADMs will stick. I drive by a Ford dealer every day and over the past two months I have seen a steady buildup in the number of full size Broncos on the lot..

The problem is that there are hardly any Toyotas on the lot. I went to my local dealer’s web site and they only have 69 new vehicles.

I don’t know why Toyota can’t (or won’t) give the dealers a decent inventory.

Cedar Park Toyota near Austin has no ADM. They will charge you 1k for window tint and ceramic shield for the vehicle, but that is the best one I have found in central Texas without insane markups. They require a $1k deposit, but it is 100% refundable.

Obviously it’s all speculation regarding how many they will make, but if you’re dealer said only gets 10/year then ~1300 dealers in us x 10 = 13,000 units…seems low if their first edition is supposed to be 5,000 units. Meanwhile Lexus sells about 30k GX the past couple years and about 120,000 4Runners. I think once they ramp up production to full speed they will be trying to sell 50k+ per year

I was told I’m about #30 in line at my dealership, their estimate was 18-24 months out (12-18 months from production start, assuming production starts EO this year). I’m not in a rush. But that would mean they are making ~40k/year which seems a bit closer to reality.

My dealer was pretty straight with me. There are about 35 reserves thus far, and they were originally told they would get about 40 allocations to start. But they told me that number is likely to change (up or down). They are a high-volume dealer, but I don't ever expect to get my hands on one till 2025.

That checks out to about 50k units/year, assuming all dealers get equal allocations (not totally true, since certain regions/certain dealers simply move more volume especially of this sort of vehicle. IE, I’m sure Denver Colorado dealers will get more than say New Orleans(plenty of population, but probably 4Runner-Esque vehicle isn’t the most popular in that region), or a dealer in Denver gets allocated more than a dealer in Wyoming (less population/ less sales)
