I pulled a set of '74ish buckets out of a '69 about 12 years ago, so I know it can be done. Don't remember the specifics, but I think they used all the factory mounts, and drilled thec**** out of the tub.

I put the stock buckets from my 74 into the 69 using stock mounts. I had to drill the floor for them to fit and cut a chunk out of the inboard side of the tool box for the center front seat mount.

I installed 74 bucket seats in my 68 more then thirty years ago. I notched the inside of the tool box for seat bracket. Used a hard top back door opening angle bracket to space the front left bracket outside the tool box. Back mounts I just drilled thru the boxed section of the floor and used long bolts with fender washers Today I would use some kind of insert nut instead. 79+ would require custom mounting brackets because of the major floor change. 73-78 bucket seats the floor was pretty much the same making it pretty easy.
