Installing a set of Landtank Seat extensions on my drivers seat. Got the front feet off, no problem. Removed the rails, no problem. Which dimples do I grind off? Which bolt do I replace?

The dimple towards the bolts in front, or the one towards the back?

On the rail, which one?

What size countersink bit did you use?

No matter what I do still have 2 problems.

1. Rail doesn't slide freely on seat. It slides but not easy. Dimples are gone and counter sinks are correct. ???

2. The smallest bolts don't fit anywhere that I can tell. You tell me.

Also, didn't see where I would cut a rail for the bracket that fits over. Where do the little bolts go???

I just got my LandTank Brackets for my FZJ 80 seats. I got them from Wit's End for $142 plus shipping. It was about 150 total.

I am looking forward to install. Not too enthusiastic about the 3/4" tilt back into the 'Lounge chair' position. I am the type that likes to sit up straight while driving. But maybe it is not too bad, I hope.

Have the PDF for install. Trying to decipher it. Looking at all the threads here on the subject.
Wish there was a video. If I knew what I was doing I would make one for people just to make it easier for others here in the 'Cruiser community. Like I did for the seat quick fix vid.

Also going to do the Gamiviti seat gear fix while I am at it, since I have the parts.

The tilt is noticeable, but not awful imo. The biggest thing is make sure the tracks are as smooth as possible and it doesn't bind on reassembly. Take the time to manually run them through the full range of motion a few times before putting it all back together. Make sure it goes all the way to both stops and doesn't hang up anywhere.

Just did this install....It took me over 5 hours. I think the toughest part was drilling out the rivet and the weld. It took a really long time, perhaps i wasnt using the right drill bit. I just used standard drill bit not a cobalt or any other specialized drill bit. Even once i drilled these out, it took a while to hammer away at the foot to get them off.
In any case. im glad i got it done, feels great to have some leg room.

Cutting oil (silicone spray) and a sharp bit helped me a lot, though it did take me a while as well. It goes all the way back but I fear I didn't get things as smooth as I could have, love the mod though!

Hey guys, mid-install in the seat extensions and I’ve reached an impass. Can’t get the lower rails to slide back onto the upper rails. I believe I’ve got the correct nubs ground off and both countersunk bolts are flush with the rail. What am I missing...do I have the roller bearings in wrong place?

Just got it, started the tracks with rear bearings out then put them in when lower tracks were almost all the way slid towards front of seat
