After years of lusting after a Land Cruiser, I finally made the plunge today! My fiancee wanted another SUV after I sold my Range Rover, and I came across a '98 with 88k at a dealership. Long story short, the previous owner put 30K on the truck in the last 10 years and maintained it a dealership in Florida, so no rust. He put an ARB bullbar, side steps with guards, rear modular bumper with swing spare tire carrier, roof rack, OME 866 springs and nitrochargers, PIAA 520's, Superwinch (do not know model), Optima blue top and Cooper Discover STT. It drives like a top and looks great! I am probably going to have to get some different tires as these a bit noisy on the interstate and the fiancee might not be too keen on them, but we will see. I am looking forward to joining the club!

Your lucky for buying a built one! But sometimes the thrill is the build;) have fun in that one!

Thanks! The reason that I jumped on this one is that I have dreamed of an ARB built one years. I would have been happy with just the front bar, so everything else is an added bonus. Now I get to bug everyone on here with greenhorn questions that I cannot find threads about.

$16k all in.

Very nice with some very sweet mods. The picture you have of the battery, i would seriously suggest moving that winch positive cable out from underneath the battery hold down. Doesn't seem like a bright idea.

Layonn, thanks for the tip. Since I have no idea what I am looking at, what is the best way to disconnect the winch? Thanks. I am in Old Town Alexandria, VA.

What is the rubber bladder in the rear suspension coil?

Sweet LC.

Any chance of getting some closeup pics of the roof rack mounts? How is the wind noise?

Looks sweet, nice ride. The badges on the rear hatch are out of place though, was it painted back there?

You sure? Looks like the same as both 99 s I've owned.

And yet another new 100 series owner!
Thou haste seen thine light!

Welcome!

Nice score!

Lovely color btw...

Congrats and welcome. I just want to know: What are you going to do with all your extra now available time (no more Rover to fix)? :flipoff2:

Cool, another built hundy in Northern Virginia, welcome to club.

Nice set up. Add some light force lights to that bull bar as one of your first mods! You may should have got married before you did this as your will probably be ignoring her more now on this site. My wife is pissed at me now for doing this sitting next to her- but I can't help it- fully addicted.

So the fiancee drove it last night for the first time and loved it! I am not sure how I pulled off convincing her to sell he Yaris and drive the hundy. What makes it amusing is that she is a petite blonde that runs a boutique in Washington, DC.

Found out it also has the OME torsion bars. I found the mounts for the PIAA 520's and am mounting those today, although I am pretty sure that they will not cut it.

Thanks for all of the thumbs up.

Here is a pic of the roof rack mounts.
