I'll be importing my '94 Prado over the summer and I am trying to find some information on what they're worth back home. Anyone have any thoughts or comments? Not planning on selling anytime soon but it would be nice to know what price it could fetch if I had to sell and so I can insure it for the correct amount. It's in great shape, exceptionally clean with no rust and only 105,000km on the odometer. Thanks in advance everyone!

I wouldnt hang my hat on the odometer reading, its common for them to have been altered. Telling everyone on a forum what you paid for it and then asking how much you can make on it is not the best way to do business. And the forum is more of a self help tech forum than an investment forum. We are here to enjoy and maintain our 7* series.

I understand what you're saying, however, from a financial standpoint I think it would be unwise to insure something for less than its' market and/or replacement value. That's why I was seeking input from folks on here who know a lot more than I do.

Depends.
You should be able to get it into (and out of) the port on DOM.
If the paperwork says 1994, you may have issues at the port with unfamiliar brokers or if you aren't knowledgeable and let them dictate their own rules.
Good luck.
KZs won't bring nearly as much cash as a 1HZ/1HD if you're wanting to flip it.

Good place to look would be in the classifieds on mud. You can get a good feel for your vehicles value.

There are several importers that have 70 series models for sale, so that is another option. Also LHD or RHD does/can effect value.

You will have a hard time getting full coverage insurance for a non-US cruiser unless you have a good relationship with your insurer. Most will not accept value of X amount just because you said X amount.
