@Crusha and I had talked about organizing a green trail run for October, but I think both of our schedules got busy.

There's a chance I will wheel this weekend, October 9th.
I'd like to do Rausch Creek if anyone else is available.

Current status.
Hopefully I can make the November run. Been way too long.

Famous Reading Offroad. Variety of green, blue, and black trails. I've been maybe 6 times. In Pottsville pa, about an 1:45 from me in Doylestown.

I have done a lot of reading up on Famous Reading Outdoors and Reading Anthracite properties.

This is cool, basically a continuation of the same coal strip that AOAA is attached to.

Gavin and I will be checking out some trails to the east of AOAA today. Darkwater la.

$45 for the day, and that can go towards your annual membership if you like it.

Had a total blast today checking out FRO Darkwater Tract.

I covered a fair bit of ground in the morning solo, then caught up with @PhuckItImDone and friends from MD around lunchtime.

It's like exploring an active open pit mine, any kind of terrain you desire so long as it involves rocks, lots of rocks 😁

This "Tract" itself is smaller than Rausch Creek, but the terrain is more open, great views!

Good times!

Subscribing to this to stay in the loop - thanks for putting this together @Pacer! Miss wheeling with you all even if I stick to wimpy trails. My front brake caliper divorced itself from my steering knuckle 5 months and 2 weeks ago. My son was born 5 months ago. Haven’t slept enough to get back under the rig and fix it…

Figures…I drive this thing to Gore and back, or Rausch and back, beating it up in between, and it decides to try and kill me on a trip to the bank. 🙄

Thanks Kris
Newbies here :). Kris mentioned (kid and I) about this group, she raved about it and said you guys go wheeling once a month. We would like to join and don’t know what to do ?

Daniel

Daniel, @Pacer or other Keystone people will chime in about future club runs.

Good thread to watch. ☺️

Dan you're welcome to join us any time.

And I'd love to do a day at Reading Anthracite. I had a one year membership and went twice but got pissed off about all the ATV's and side by sides whizzing by me. Would like to go with someone who knows their way around as I had no idea where I was going. Darkwater is about twenty minutes from my house.

Apparently FRO offers a free day to members and non-members once a year or maybe more, don't know yet.
If that interests you, see the link below for their Minersville Scavenger Hunt Benefit which took place last Saturday Oct 9.

Maybe we can keep it on our radar for October 2022.
