Keep making the old slee rear bumper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who agrees with me? I like the old slee rear bumper wayyyy more than the new one! I love the single swing out, centered tire, cb antenna mount location, and the angle of the hi lift jack mount, it was perfect. why mess with perfection? or in this case discontinue perfection! Maybe just maybe if enough of us agree with this slee will come to his senses and will decide to start selling the old rear bumper again!

I had the old Slee rear bumper and having seen the new one I think the changes will be to most people's liking. It was my understanding that you could still get it with a single swingout just that it would be offset. He was trying to make better latches. He already designed a better spindle top. Remember that when he changes is something it is because of years of discussion with owners of the previous product or from problems they found with the original product. Slee doesn't change things unless it can be made better for some reason.

I see what you are saying! But you know this is a 50/50 thing half will like the new and the other half will like the original(me). I just don't under stand why slee cant stock both the old and new rear bumpers. By stocking both he will please all of the buyers, maybe as opposed to just the majority.

If its avaliable with a carrier that is like the carrier on the old one (i.e. tire in the middle) then thats great.......essentially then he is selling two different bumpers.


Improving things is always done with good intentions, but the out come is not always good. Just look at when Microsoft tried to IMPROVE Windows by releasing Vista.....we can see how well that went

Im not trying to imply that the same will hold true for Slee.

He probably could justify stocking each if he sold gazillions. But I suppose the overall units sold are relatively low. He does after all have to make money at this game at some point

But like you I love my original Slee rear bumper. The only thing I'd like better is about 2" shorter for better departure angle. But having said that its never caused me to not be able to move down/up the trail

What you say is true! but another solution to fixing the low sales problem with inventory is stocking less of certan items he could stock say only 8 or so of the old bumpers for the ppl, that like those better

Either way i will give slee another call tomorrow to see if we can work something out!

We are also looking at making a 3rd carrier that will center the tire on the truck, but can be used with the same bumper for those that prefer the center carrier.

If you MUST have an old one, I could probably sell you mine... for the price of a new one
