Hey guys I was just thinking about my endless wish list for my cruiser and had a question. I have an 80 lb GSD mix and want a roof top tent in the future...
I recall seeing somewhere that a guy had a ladder that his dogs could climb?
Any solutions on getting a big dog in the tent?
Weird question I know, but I love my dog and wont get the RTT if she cant sleep in it :)

Not sure what a GSD is, but unless it has wings I'd say, uh, NO!

I managed my 120lb Tibetan Mastiff in my RTT on my FJC a few times, yes, getting her down is the issue. She wanted to jump out and I'd have to catch her or carry her down. Neither of which is a good thing.

Now, she sleeps under the rig on a tether as suggested above...

I've got a CVT RTT with the Annex that attaches to the bottom of the tent. It hangs down to the ground and has a thick rubber floor that seems fairly impervious to dog claws. My two 40lbs. dogs sleep in the annex with our bags.

My lab/husky mix used to run up the windshield from the hood through a side window into the RTT. He could get down the same way.

Decided the risk wasn't worth it, plus I like the paint on the new cruiser a bit more than the last one.
