The fan shroud on my 1997 has the symbol shown in the photo. I’m sure it represents the manufacturer. But usually Toyota has their stamp on everything?

Not much in that thread to explain the shape of the symbol on the fan shroud. No where on the shroud is the TEQ!
I’m surprised I hadn’t noticed it earlier in my 80’s life! That symbol is no where else on the 80 so I’m figuring it’s the manufacturers mark.
 
Small logo is the toyorad logo. Company that made the radiator and shroud. I’m guessing the larger symbol may be a Japanese character for left, right top or bottom?

If those are fitting instructions I wonder why it is needed. The piece only fits on one way?
 
FWIW if you've ever had the upper intake off a 1FZFE you may find a couple of hand painted marks (Japanese characters), IIRC one on the rear of the intake facing the firewall, another on the right underside.
