Hey all,

Because it’s my luck that whatever can go wrong will go wrong, I just want to doubly confirm that 275/70/18 KO2 tires will fit a stock 06 LX470 with no rubbing at normal ride height. Don’t want to spend $2k for tires, mount, road force balance, and alignment before I know it’s going to work. As far as I understand the 275/65/18 LT tires are a little rough ride-wise and the extra sidewall helps with that. Please any and all experience is welcome.

Confirmed. We have the same YM LX470 and I went through that same tire setup up to now I still have that tire. It will rub on LOW, in Neutral and High it won’t.

Hey @LowDrag82, can confirm that tire sizes works without rubbing in normal AHC mode. Enjoy! FYI, here you can see I am in Hi.

Are you saying it will rub in low and neutral or just low? I can’t think of a time I’ll be in low because I’m not going to tow anything large

Awesome pic man looks great

No rubbing in no way with 2757018. Been rolling those for many years.

So happy to see half million mile LX’s in your sig. my new to me Lx has 238k but overall is in much better condition than the majority that come in according to the land cruiser specialist ive been working with in central VA

Shop says they having tons of trouble getting one of the KO2s to balance on the hunter road force machine.
Between me and wife we’ve had 7 sets of ko2s. I had to exchange 1 of her tires and a complete set of 5 from mine because unable to balance

Since then Ive swapped out to several other brands but she still won’t run anything but BFG

Think it's pretty common among most AT tires. I've had issues with Wildpeaks on two different Tundras in two different tire sizes and two different wheel sizes. And think I've probably got at least one that needs attention on my LX.

Fortunately the website, discounttiredirect.com I got them from has their own “discount tire” shop 45 min away from me, so if I have to exchange a tire, hopefully I can do it there instead of shipping the damn thing back.

I just bought an 06LX 189K. All maintenance upto date and I have a good baseline on preventive maintenance moving forward. Need tires...looked at K02's and Yoko Geolanders. I live in a rural area and most of my driving is highway. I might get some light off road action but I do plan on getting a steel bumper either Ironman or the one that wraps the bar along the side...can't recall name.
Anyway, any advice on tires and size would be a big help. Thanks!

My shop won’t install Ironman anything due to quality control issues.

276/70/18 is the biggest you can fit without modifications. If you’re only going to be doing light off roading, you may want to look into the bfgoodrich trail terrain. They are much more suited for on road use, somewhere in between all season and all terrain.

Thanks, Good to know about Ironman. What do you suggest? I saw another front bumper that had a wrap around bar toward the front wheel hub...are you familiar?
I live around alot of dear and the hunters are fewer every year. I guess the fathers are up against video games and the son's aren't thinning the deer pop but rather thinning enemy lines on Call of Duty.
Anyway, I appreciate the info as I want to update the look and improve functionality. Will keep the AHC for now...swapping fluid out. I have checked all the cooling plastic tees and hoses, new T belt and W pump etc. I am having the trans fluid inspected not sure about flushing or just drain and fill a few times over the next few years. Any other things I should do to get a good baseline for future PM's? Maintenance records are through Lexus and Carfax but have a few holes. No rust though, FL for most of life...in NY for first 3 years.
Definitely want to add steel front bumper and get tires asap. Is it ok to just pull the side running boards off, or do I need rock sliders to make it look finished. Your input is much appreciated.
Thanks again!

One more thing. I have looked at a few different rims for tires. How do the stock rims compare for look and function? Anyone ever Plasti dip the OEM rims? I thought to black powder coat but my roads are so dusty the rimms would stay full of dust.

Hey so I’m just learning about all this stuff but for lifts Old Man Emu is good budget, then bilstein and dobbensons is nicer. For steel bumper you can’t go wrong with ARB deluxe (requires modding) or if money isn’t a problem, go with Slee. Slee off road has a ton of hardware for the LX470. I’m doing a ARB deluxe front bumper, white knuckle rock sliders and Slee front diff bash plate.

A lot of people like the method or icon wheels for these vehicles. I may get them down the road, but I really like the Lexus gunmetal 5 spoke wheels on mine.
