Just got my FSM in the mail and I think I got sent or ordered the wrong one

The cover states that it is for engine manual for the B, 3B, 11B, and 14B engines. I think these are 4 cylinder motors? I'm looking for a 3fe right? The lady that I talked to at helms didnt know much about the manuals, she was just an order taker. I told her I needed the manual for an 88 landcruiser. Should I have asked for a 1989? I have done some searching since I got the manual and noticed people saying to order an 89 year model manual for the FJ62. I looked on their website but they don't show imamges of the manual covers so I can't really see what I'm getting. Thanks in advance.

yeah, you got the diesel motor manuals. you want 60 series chassis/body manual. doesnt really matter what year you get.

the chassis manual doesnt cover the engines, you need seperate manual for that... just to let you know you can download them for free of the internet. theres a nice link in the stickys of 70 series forum

Yeah I saw the site. Wasn't really sure which file I needed plus I just wanted a paper copy also.

Not on the FJ62 models. The FSM for the FJ62 includes both the engine and chassis in one book.

Yeah you got the wrong manual, it's a diesel engine FSM.

Try searching through this thread, it may have what you need, available as a free download.

My 1989 FJ62 manual is Pub. No. RM120U. Note that there are some minor differences between 1988 and 1989.

I ordered the same one from Helm, the web descriptions are not that informative. i think the body manual is "not yet available"

the only manual they had in stock for a 88 FJ62 was the diesel engine one...

Thanks for all the info. I ordered the 89 today and am sending the diesel one back. If I come across anything that doesn't match I'll check out the web stuff. I just got plugs wires PVC fuel filter thermostat and all three belts from dan. Got a lot of work to do. Plus I see a knuckle rebuild caliper rotor and headlight upgrade in the near future. Ps. And I have a transmission cooler to install.
