I run 15w50 Mobil 1 anyone run the same. I find the heavier oil makes it run better and gives it more oil pressure

Dude, I don't care what you run. You have like 8 frickin posts and they all center around stuff that you would see has been covered 1,000 times already. LOOK AROUND at some of the previous posts.

Junks covered it! Search for Cary's post and read, you'll know more about oil than you care to.

Oh, yeah, Mobil 5w30 (dino style), small Toyota filer, change every 3k just for an excuse to go to the garage!

I quit using oil, just pulled the plug and drive it around empty. No more checking, a little noisy, but I don't have to think about it.

Still on Mobil 1 0w-40, I have a 8000 mile run waiting to get mailed to Blackstone to see how it held up over the longer interval (I expect it did well from the other UOA's I have seen).

Raventai, when are going to see a UOA of the 5w-40? Are you using the SUV or Delvac 1? It seems that now people are saying the two are slightly different.

Cary

Delvac 1, get it in the 1 gal containers at a local distributor, I read that also, don't know what to think,

have the first OCI in a bottle, was not sure how informitive it would be, first synthetic OCI for this truck so I have not sent it in, should be hitting the second OCI shortly, will send that one in,

Mobil1 5-30. I can tell a huge difference from dino valvoline. Runs smoother.

On a side note, i am very curious about this. Seems like it has been discussed over and over about how syn oil is designed to condition seals and such, which usually leads to leaks in higher milage motors. But when i was running dino valvoline, i had a small oil leak, not sure if it was the upper pan or rear main (dripping onto the front torsion bar). Now that i switched to mobil syn, there is no more oil dripping onto the torsion bar?

What ever Costco sells in large quantity 10w-30 (usually Quaker state or Mobile Dino) and a Toyota smaller filter. Then I Drive her like I stole her.

Mobil-1 15-50.

Chevron 10-30w dino most of the year
Chevron 10-40w dino during summer months
... with the -20004 filter

Castrol SYntec (5W-40), and the TRD filters (4 more changes, anyway, then the 20004 filter)

Mobil 1 0w-40.....

Mobil 10w-30 full synthetic
