thanks for taking pictures everyone!

Great trip - thanks for leading this Mike!

Looks like the strike was avoided and you were able to say.

545 miles round trip for a mile & a half trail run

Does that include your 40 feet of mud puddle a few days earlier.

Little information on who ever was driving the FJ62. Tire size and lift size? Any clearance problems? Figured this run would be something I would bash a FJ40 thru but with summer temperatures A/C would be nice.

So what was the high temperature anyway?

We also don’t have many pics, but had a great time. Thanks to everyone for helping Emily and I feel welcome on our first run. We’re looking forward to the next one.

@Living in the Past I’ve got a 2.5-3” OME lift with 285/75/16 tires on the 62. Clearance isn’t an issue assuming you are judicious with the obstacles you elect to tackle, pick good lines, and have good spotters. As others on the run can attest to, my judgement is somewhat questionable. Aftermarket bumpers, sliders, and skid plates have jumped up on my list of priorities.

Daytime highs...HOT!

...and as far as I know, Steve was the only one who camped. Somewhere up on the rim in a mud puddle. I think he likes the sound of water while he sleeps. ;)

Thought it might have been yours but some of the pictures seem to almost have a reddish tint. Probably the dust. Just as idea of quick cheap to get some kind of skid plate is find one from a 60 series. 4/85 and later the four speeds used in the US were longer like the five speeds. I picked one up and seeing if I can figure a way to use a least part of it with my automatic. Other than threaded holes in the frame guessing with the five speed it should be pretty easy to mount unless the inside CAT is in the way.

Figured it was going to be hot. Another month hopefully will be cooler with afternoon rains.
