Looks like i'm going to miss a good trip on this one.
Sucks now that it looks like I could make it.

Take lots of pics everyone.

Looks super.

If there are any last minute cancellations I'm happy to fill in.

Everyone listed in the first post, please PM me your email address for trip information.

Got to keep the intrigue up! Figured now that Adam finally knows where it's at, we can at least hide the rendezvous time and route details!

I will gladly help ya out if needed. Rents are in etowah. Most of you have my # is not your loss. I might bring the 40 that weekend

Thanks pres I have better things to do then hang with you

We still love you Meats...

Hopefully, raiding the beer stores in AVL is one of your 'better things to do'. We might call you for a resupply along the way.

Back to the topic now.

Just as long as he knows a re-supply would take him 3 hours to get to us from Etowah..

Can a beer truck make it up Hurricane Creek road? That'd be a pretty impressive feat :steer:

Sure but only if you like mexican beer.... Tecate has a "fleet" of beer trucks

They also have some bar maids to serve it to you

There's a great outfitter in Black Mountain right off I40 at exit 64 if anybody needs anything on the way. There's always a well stocked clearance clothing rack in the back for men and women where massive deals can be had. I've bought a couple "rep samples" winter jackets there for well over 1/2 off. They have the usual stuff - shoes/boots, climbing gear, camping gear, hiking gear, clothes, etc.

And there's a Bi Lo and ABC store across the street...

I am digging that red bull hovercraft

Email has been sent to all the original attendees.

Since we're erring on the side of caution due to recent events at Hurricane Creek, we're sorry we couldn't add any additional trucks to the mix at the last minute. :frown:

Pics, for those of use that didn't sign up fast enough???

A few from the phone. I think it was a later arrival home for most so you might have to wait for folks to get home and settled tonight before pics are posted.

I have lots of pics of the back of David's 40 :)

I got to ride shotgun on this trip and had a great time! The weather was almost perfect as it stayed fairly cool and didn't rain until Sunday's drive out. Here are my pictures...haven't had time to fully organize so there are a lot...especially of David's 40 since he was in front of or behind us most of the trip. Let's be honest though, the 40 definitely looked the coolest out there, although I may be a little biased. :D Thanks to the Keefers for their spectacular camp meals and Brian and Jason for mapping it all out. Definitely an awesome place to drive and camp!

I'll echo Joanna and say that Brian and Jason did an excellent job planning the trip. Their scouting trip a few weeks back paid big dividends as we covered a lot of ground, avoided dead-end trails, saw some beautiful scenery and had fantastic waterside campsites, one of which had a great swimming hole.

We had a really good group in attendance (and just the right number of vehicles I might add) and, as usual, those of us on the KDP (Keefer Dining Plan) ate really well.

What a great time! I hope we will do more trips like this in the future.

Great pics.

So Brian now all the secrecy is over, are you going to post up a trip map for the rest of us to do at our leisure.

Sarah and I had a ton of fun, and she managed to get some much needed sleep. I hope nobody took that the wrong way; she loves to combine sleeping and outdoors. We split the driving about 50/50. She dug the rainy Sunday trail. We learned a lot about the 80 and the things I've done to it. Next time will be more efficient, streamlined and lightweight. The storage system worked well and I have ideas to make it more versatile. I'll update my 80 thread once it's complete, so don't hold your breath.

I will admit to having the only trail repair (camp, actually) of the trip. One of the wear indicators on a front pad got mangled and started driving me crazy.

I only took a few pictures, and like most of us, they all seemed to be from behind the 40.
