Hurricane Creek has been bulldozed!
I was up in Asheville this past weekend and decided to visit HC while in the area, boy was I up for a rude awakening! Looks like the forest service has had enough of people driving on their road and making side trails. Any and all rocks/obstructions on the trail have been smoothed over. All the side trails, mud pits, hill climb are now inaccessible.
I'll get in touch with my contact person as he was warning of some possible issues in the future. The side trails, mud pits, and hill climb were never part of the original trail (and on private property). There were a few landowners not happy with recent trips out there, and I've seen a few YouTube videos that document the actions and didn't help the cause. Let me do some digging...
I was planning on a trip in the near future to plan the ride...

We're still on regardless if we actually get on the Hurricane Creek Trail. We'll find alternate Forest Roads to travel if it is COMPLETELY blocked, which from what I've read is not the case, only the places that were off-limits. I'm going up in two weeks to scout everything out and plan the activities and route. We're still on for the expedition... the route may change however.![]()

Looking forward to this. Been getting the 80 ready - got a big surprise in store. Also getting our camp gear together and have a few new tricks to try. Actually, it's all new to me since I don't camp, but I do love the gear!
Any women going besides Sarah?
