Can I bring my "Pack and Play" too. I could go for a nap around noon time... :D

Earliest I can be there is about 7:30 if I leave here at 5:30AM. Hopefully the turnpike will be clear by then.
See you all Saturday!

Whatever time works best for you, but 7:30 should be good.

yeah its 21 spline, and its not that big of a deal, the only thing i have to do this week other than work in the shop is go hunting:D..i have a couple cages i'd really like to get done and outta the way, but if i dont its no big deal;p

So you will be able to bring all of the following for the adapter:

Dual Adapter Parts List:
21 Spline coupler
Adapter plate with bearings installed
Bearing spacer
11 Studs and nuts
Drain plug
Rear transmission output seal
2.28 Shift knob
Snap Ring
Shifter keystock
Detent plug
Three paper gaskets

I have most of the tools for the install except for a 30mm socket, gear puller, 3/16 Diameter Pin Punch and snap ring pliers

ill pull it apart tonight or tomorrow, i should have almost everything, as its all installed
i wont have the output seal, i'd assume its in my trans, and hopefully i have the shift knob, its probably in my box of toy parts;p...and the gaskets should still be good, the shifter keystock is tacked on my shifter rail, it's just a tiny piece of metal, i can make one if ya need me to

i have a 30mm socket i can bring, and snap ring pliers, i might have a pin punch too

Is the output seal 100% necessary?? I have metal that we can make a new keystock from.

Sorry to be a pain, I tend to over analyze things and be a little OCD :D

no the seal's not necessary, just a replacement just in case the original gets messed up removing the case, most of the time it doesnt need replaced;)...im sure napa could get one if ya really want one;p

I'll get one anyways just in case we have any issues I can always return it or keep as a spare. Thanks

Alright picked up the final parts this morning, so we should have everything, I hope. Picked up a tranny rear output seal, rear main engine seal, cap, rotor, plugs, upper and lower radiator hoses, and gear oil for the tranny and transfer cases.

For the new engine we will have the oil pump and crank pullies to install, some vacum lines and the damn coolant bypass hose that I can't figure out where it goes :( rear main seal, flywheel, clutch and TO bearing.

22re Engine is pretty much ready to pull, unbolt the motor mounts and tranny bolts. Figure out what we want to do with the exhaust, you'll see when you get there, but nothing bad, pretty easy actually. Once that's done the engine is ready to come out.

For the dual cases, I have a good complete topshift case that I want to use for the rear case instead of the one in the truck, we can use that one for the crawl box. I haven't done anything with the tcases yet, but it shouldn't be too bad to get out just a little crammped since the truck is on 28" tires. We can shorten the rear 2 piece shaft to make it work until I build a new front and rear shaft out of 2.5" Schedule 40.

Anyone think of anything else?? Thanks again.

sounds like you've pretty much got it covered, i'll bring some random extra parts just in case;p...would you be interested in a header for it?

oh and btw jeff might not make it because eva is kinda sick i guess, he wasnt really sure, but i'll be there as soon as i can

SOrry I could not make it JT! Eva has something and I thought not to share : )

if you wouldve came i'd be $160 richer right now:doh:

the f'n tracker broke down on the way home for now apparent reason, called triple A, had it towed home:mad:...oh well, s*** happens, and JT's engine is in along with dual cases...not running yet, but almost there:beer:

we got the old engine pulled, pulled the tranny out, got the new engine ready, assembled the dual cases, dropped the new engine in, and put the tranny/tcases back in, i think JT has a little bit of the wiring to plug in, install the radiator/starter and battery, and cut a hole in the floor for the 2nd tcase shifter/reinstall the shifters...that should be about it;p

It was a good day overall. Pizza was good. Donuts were good. Beer was good. Working on the 4runner was a good learning experience. (Note to self.... buy a few more 14mm wrenches & sockets.)
I had fun. Can't wait to see it on the trail!
I'll post the pictures after work tomorrow.

What a day, I can't say enough about the guys that came down to help out I owe all of you big time, I would still be pulling the engine if not for you guys :D John prety much summed up what is left to do and there is a little bit of other stuff. Hopefully I can sneak off and get some things done over the next few weeks plus the upcoming vacation for X-mas will help me with trying to get the truck on the trails for the run at the end of the month.

The only issue that I have at the moment is from looking at the front driveshaft position is that it looks like it may not clear the tranny crossmember?? Have to do some mockup and measuring to see, soon enough.

John that sucks about your ride home, wonder what happened.

Here are the pics I took.

JT was a terrific host, with good food and tasty beer. Just need to get a little more heat in that garage.:)

I have another heater at the cabin, just didn't bring it down, may put an infrared heater in as well that runs on propane, but I gotta clean out a bunch of crap first.

Hoping to get some work done on it Saturday morning before we go do some x-mas shopping, mainly the remaining bolts for the engine, starter, fan, and wire harness.

Maybe I'll get some more tools for x-mas so things go easier next time :D

Looks like you guys were productive--awesome! Wish I could've been there.

I was very surprised at all that we got done and everyone that showed up made for a great team.

Now we gotta come up with a name for the project. thinking something along the lines of cheap since this is an extremely cheap build.
