Well the front is done being tubbed, I can now fit 35's on full compression with out any lift :D not that stock IFS has much travel, but I am going to remove the front bump stops to get a little more. I got the passenger side rear fender well opened up and almost done, just have a few little pieces of metal to weld in and it is done. Ended up takeing about 2.5" out of the fender and then sectioning the inner fender to reuse the existing metal. Acutually quite easy to do and looks pretty good. Didn't start on the drivers side rear yet because I ran out of cut off wheels, knew I should have gotten more than 6 :(

Will be getting a 1" body lift here within the next few weeks so that will help with clearance even more. Will be placing my order for rear shackles next paycheck and possibly my BudBuilt crossmember.

Yeah, I gotta get some pictures to put up, really all i did was pound the seam back and some sheet metal back then cut the rocker area back to the body mount and trimmed the body mount down to match. Then capped it off. Also had to replace some metal due to rust.

Well I got really lucky, I am picking up a 85 Toy front axle on Saturday and some rear springs for $125, so we may be doing a SAS here soon :D

Well my V6 calipers showed up today at work, so I am going to throw some new pads on them and put them on since the original ones are rotted to hell. I am still looking for a master cylinder to upgrade to, so that may be next as well. Gotta fix my Tacoma frame here pretty soon, so it may be a little while till I get some more work done on the Runner.

Anybody want to come down and give me a hand pulling my bed and gas tank out to re-weld my frame :D

When were you thinking of doing it? Weekend? After work?

Doing what the calipers or the frame fix? maybe do the frame fix this saturday afternoon.

frame fix . . . but i'm booked saturday afternoon.

wanted to repay with some help!

I can do it next Saturday too if that would work. I'll post up a work party for next saturday.

Placed a parts order, so I should have most of the parts I need except for the 1" body lift that a buddy is taking off of his runner this weekend. Planning on finishing up the fenders and getting some pictures with the 35's on it, maybe fix the Tacoma frame as well.

Ok here is a picture of the finished firewall trim

Then put 35's on the front

And then the rear after I got the 5" shackle installed and rear u-bolt flip

Still gotta do brakes, rear shocks, front driveshaft and some little stuff.

That thing looks purposeful. Nice. Mad Max-ish.

Thanks, probably never see the road, there will be a little more clearance once I get the 1" body lift on for a little extra clearance and then I can weld the sliders on as well and build bumpers for it.

Got the front drive shaft lengthed last night with some 2" schedule 40. It isn't the staightest, but it will never see high speed so not too worried about it. Also stripped the rest of the interior to finish off the fender cutting to seal up some of the welds and cuts. I ordered up a 1" MC and will pick up some brake pads this week for the V6 calipers. 1" body lift should be here either the end of this week or early next.

Will be placing an order for a BudBuilt crossmember with 1" drivetrain lift next week, since I sold the rear tube bumper I have on the Tacoma. Maybe pick up a Marlin Crawler rear bumper as well unless John would want to make one for me, have to ask him.

No didn't hear about that, it would be interesting to see if anything happens out of it, but I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks for the heads up on it.

Got the rear shocks welded up and installed. Also raised the drivers seat about an inch for better visability and took the rear adjustable lap belt and installed it on the drivers seat. I hate wheeling with the shoulder belt and usually wrap it behind the seat, the lap belt will work out much better.

Ordered up a set of new front brake lines that are longer for when we do the SAS and allow me to bolt the line directly to the V6 calipers I got. Once I get them installed I am going to see about state inspection, which it should pass.

Also contacted the local Toyota dealer about the frame rust issue and the "bulletin", they hadn't heard about it, but upon further looking they found it and the truck will be going in in the near future.

depending on who you take it to, it might pass state insp., but i can tell you right now it legally shouldnt pass, the main thing i see is the sharp sheetmetal edges, but oh well;p

are you gonna try to bring it up on the 22nd?

Yeah, not done with the sheet metal, gotta get some edge molding, it's on the list :)

I am going to try and bring it up, gotta get the tow bar setup installed and get the tow hitch on the Tacoma and a wiring harnes as well. Or maybe use Dads 4 Runner since it is already set up to tow. If not I'll most likey be up for the morning with the Tacoma.
