I found this FJ 40 last year and have become attached. I would like to introduce Gus to you guys! After making changes and improvements over the past year, I have decided to start a build thread to share Gus' progress.

I think Gus just needs to wear smaller shoes! Can't imagine what your gas mileage is like with 37 inchers.

Surprisingly I get 15 mpg with Gus with the 37's thanks to 4.88 gears and a Howell fuel injection system.

I recently installed FJ60 axles in Gus with FJ60 OME 2.5" springs, out boarded spring hangers, extended shock towers, frame reinforcements and new upgraded PS box and mounts. First drive today after being under the knife for a few days, oh what a feeling. I knew it was going to be good, but not this good. Here are some pics.

Making a little more progress on Gus.
Just got through putting the H55 5speed in with AA 4 to 1 T case gears.

The nice beads belong to Justin here in our shop. I used to be a decent welder but now I can hardly see the puddle. Lol
