My new Heritage Edition arrived last night so I decided it was time to start a build thread. I’m more active in some of the other series forums but not new to the 200 series. I have been getting a new one every other year since 2012 or so but have never done much to them other than a lift. I decided to do a little bit more to this one with the help of @Eric Sarjeant and some great mud vendors. Here is the truck as it rolled off the truck late last night.

The build will be complete before I take delivery so I am guessing several more weeks given the upcoming holidays. So far, this is what we have on the “to do” list:

Front ARB Summit bumper with 12,500 ComeUp Gen2 and ARB Intensity lights.
Rear Kaymar dual swing out thanks for @wardharris.
24 gallon LRA aux tank also courtesy of Ward.
OME BP51 lift
Slee sliders
Bud Built skids
ARB compressor
285/70/18 Nitto’s

I went back and forth about the wheels and ended up deciding to just keep the BBS bronze wheels. Eric ordered a fifth one so they will match all around.

The truck really won’t see a lot of use as I have several other cruisers (really its a disease). But I figured this would be a fun cruiser to drive once its built out.

Happily taking recommendations if anyone has any other favorite mods. I’ve been skimming around the 200 forum for additional ideas as well.

My suggestion would be to give the terrain tamer suspension a try. Ward can source it for you. I am not convinced the bp51s are so great, but it seems very few folks have driven similar trucks with different suspension setups.

I gave some consideration to doing something different but ultimately decided to stick with what I know. I’ve had them on two other 200 series and also have them on two 80 series. The truck will only see a few thousand miles a year. Mainly just some random fishing and hunting excursions.

@Onur can you switch to a build thread?

@jmlockwood

A few ideas we spoke about
  • rock rights. Wired to dome circuit for puddle light when unlocked, off when door shut/locked. Override for off-road use as true rock lights
  • XPEL Paint protection film, rockers are a must, hood, front bumper, mirrors, door cups
  • Formula One Ceramic tint

Some more ideas to chew on:
  • Color match the ARB recovery points to the bronze wheels. See pic below of another one we did with Tundra tow hooks for a Heritage, looks clean (need a slightly larger isolator)
  • Lexus LX570 credit card key fob
  • Rigid Adapt 30” light bar in front grill (only works with Heritage grill)
  • @TRAIL TAILOR tailgate storage (in stock)
  • Ceramic Pro Gold (9 layers of H9, 1 layer of base)
  • Ceramic pro undercarriage
  • Arb summit drawers (in stock)
  • Dual battery, if so, lots of ideas. New Switch Pro and RedArc brackets will be done this week. I’ll text you what they look like
  • Tech stream updates
  • Drawer lights
  • Extra USB ports
  • Remote start/alarm

  • Look forward to the build. LMK if you think of anything else!

I knew there were a few other things we discussed.

Yes on the key fob and ARB drawers.

I recall thinking about the batteries but never made a decision. Will call you this week on it and some other things.

Eric, did you figure out what Lexus credit card fob works for 2020? I had no luck with programming the 89904-53512 on my 2020.

I haven’t yet, I’m glass you brought that up, I forgot you had trouble. I will know the answer this week.

Never really considered how the ARB Intensity lights would match up with the ARB recovery points but I think it looks really sharp. Seems like everything is coming together pretty nicely so far.
