How does the ride quality compare?
Stiffer for sure on the 1958 but I attribute that to the E Load Falkens the dealer put on it. My LX had SL Cooper tires that looked aggressive but were much tamer. The LX is far more plush anyway than a LC with adaptive dampers. Less nose dive on the LC though!

Keeping this thread alive. My 24 has had 4 oil changes so far. I skipped sending the 10k change off to blackstone. I have been running genuine Toyota 0w20 (local dealer ran a special on Black Friday - 6 quarts for $32). I do all my own maintenance. Results leave me optimistic that they did resolve the issues. Time will tell.

Its the initial debris getting left in too long taking out the bearings, couple early quick successive oil changes and running a good 30w oil is good practice.
There was visible shiit in the oil on the first change in my 24', my bearing wear metal levels are in the range of your latest test results.
I dont know why your moly is so low if its TGMO, should look like the first test.... you may have got old stock or something , idk.
Needs more moly and higher viscosity IMO but thats opinion....

I thought the moly looked low as well. I am going to continue to do 5k mile oil changes and test every 10k.

@bj70bc tgmo has changed the moly content. The lower content is found many voa. They could have switched to trinuclear vs dinuclear.
I hate to beat a deadhorse but I posted on my 5-30 thread the Mobile 1 specs in several weights.

Probably going to run 0-40 or 0-30 european myself. It ran so much better on 5-30 already but there is room for improvement.

I know this YouTuber gets a lot of flack for the content he produces, but this interview has me intrigued. Starting at around 10:00, it’s alleged Toyota will have some new parts coming to the V35A to address these bearing problems around Q2 of 2026.

Sounds like I would be waiting until Q3 of next year to even consider a vehicle with a V35A, and I hope these problems are finally nipped in the bud with whatever new parts they come out with.

Again, this is all alleged info, but we will see what shakes out of this over the next year.

I’m stoked if they can finally get this issue fixed to give me confidence back in this platform.

Everyone (with a brain....small % of people) knows that constant change and racing to the bottom is not green or efficient or frugal or actually wanted....but most aren't that smart.

So we have billions of dollars spent and countless non-rewable resources used up and billions of pounds of CO2 expelled to get 2% mpg increase in laboratory conditions that will never be replicated in the real world.

High efficiency ANYTHING is just another way of saying its made with disposable parts and DOES NOT WORK.

Prove me wrong.

Can't prove an unsubstantiated statement. Non-falsifiability is a basic logical error.

Same things were said about fuel injection, turbos, electric vehicles, computers, and sheesh, even the printing press. Enjoy the past.

Welp I got over my bias for naturally aspirated humongous under stressed engines by buying my first turbo/hybrid engine lando. Only time will tell but I am happy giddy inside like a kid again and I guess thats what matters

I think the times have moved on in engineering and we just got to move on
